Honestly, Gudbranson has no history for dirty plays and has taken total responsibility for the hit. I don't see any justification whatsoever for bad blood or "retribution" or vigilante justice. Flames just need to move on and play better.

I wonder if I can get a group buy for some valium to sedate this forum a little.

Well we have a different coaching staff than last year and Peters just said that Prout was the #7. I had assumed that Andersson was the #7 and was just sent to the AHL to get games in.
The thing to keep in mind is that Peters is always going to say he's playing Prout for hockey reasons even if his actual plan is to just put Prout in to knock Gudbranson's head off. He'd be a fool to say otherwise.
I still expect Andersson to play more games than he doesn't while Hamonic is out.

Pretty sure he's joking.
Never played hockey so I don't really know what "the code" is but for basketball and football I'm generally pretty forgiving of people if they apologize. Gudbranson to me was extremely fair, acknowledged that someone would challenge him over the hit and seemed upset that Hamonic was hurt. It's not really his fault Hamonic broke something, as Burke said at intermission if you fight someone out of your weight class bad things happen and Hamonic was the one who challenged him. There's really no need to pursue this even further unless something else happens on saturday.
All that being said, we really do need some beef who can answer the bell if necessary. Hamonic was #1 on that list and besides him we have a bunch of big non-physical guys, or some smallish scrappy guys like Tkachuk.

I love when this happens. People freaking out that they think other people are freaking out. Then more people start freaking out because everyone else is freaking out.
Chill out. Have some fun. No reason to get worked up.

Instead, let us talk about how Hamonic got hit in the jaw so hard it broke but didn't get knocked out. Legend.
...and played the rest of the game with a broken jaw...
I've done that. It's not fun. Neither is the recovery, especially if the break is in a place where they can't put plates in. Then it's milkshakes and talking like you're snarling for 6 weeks while your jaw is wired shut.

Two things, if Prout or Paluso tunes Gudbrunson in with a few punishing blows and it actually helps the Flames win I am all for it. If not I don’t care. It’s the kind of thing that can lift the team and perhaps remove a significant player from the game.
Secondly I would like see some serious physicality applied to the opposition goalie, the Flames seem to be too well behaved around the net. It’s always our goalie and our players that get hurt, time to turn things around.
This gudbranson/Dube/hamonic issue is history. Move on. I hope Prout does lay some hits and doesn’t take a single penalty. I as a fan don’t need to see him fight. Screw that shinguard.
