Well that was a crappy game. Outshot, outscored, outclassed. At least we did the injuring.

Too little too late!
The Pittsburgh Penguins waited until the 3rd period to pour on the pressure against the Canes on Thursday. By that time it was too late. The Canes dominated play in the first two periods and held a 3-1 lead after 2. The Pens came out hard in the third but couldn't capitalize on 2 5-3 advantages and dropped a tight 3-2 division to the league leading Canes.

Panthers squeek out win vs the Senators! It was a close game and the PK didn't let us down for a change. Fernandez gets a big win but now the Panthers have to find a way to beat the struggling Sabres who are due a win! Just our luck!

Canadiens salvage a tie with the 'Yotes. Only the Avs have played more OT matches. The Habs have only won one once when playing in the sudden death situation. Not what is expected of a vetran club and an elite goalie. Does that mean changes are iminent in Montreal? Perhaps, GM Beerfund is looking at several options invloving his forward ranks. Perhaps a deal where one of his UFA forwards are moved out to a team that needs top 6 help. It is rumoured that Beerfund is looking to complete his third line by adding a younger player. Also, a deal involving Beauchemin and a top forward for an upgrade on D coinciding with a downgrade at forward, has been circulating media row.
Stay tuned.

Howl!

The sim plays no favorites on HD's birthday. The Yotes had to fight back for a point. Winless in their last 3 the Coyotes have still found a way to get a point in all 3 games. Another late comeback goal 17:09 of the 3rd is the savior for Phoenix.

It was Sundin's 1st game back from injury and the rust was evident as he was held off the score sheet and only had 2 shots.

Curtis Joseph saved 31 shots to be named the games first star.

The Dogs go home to face the Avs tomorrow.

Yikes. Turco needed a night off and Lundqvist can't even stick in there the whole game. He let in 5 on 15 shots and Turco had to come in when the game was out of reach. Don't know why the sim doesn't like Hank this year.

But despite bad goaltending this was a game the Leafs deserved to lose anyway. Took 10 penalties, only got one goal on the Hawks. Usually it's the goalies and special teams that let us down, tonight it was everything.

Leafs continue to struggle, don't know where this team is headed as 2007 gets closer and closer.

Chris, the sim gods must not like that picture of Davey Crockett you use for an avatar

Tonight everything came together for the Hawks. That doesn't happen very often. The Leafs happened to be the other team on the ice. Pity it was not the Wings, but I guess you can't have everything.

Scoring was pretty spread out, with only Kotalik getting 2 goals. Ryan Miller was a wall against his rival Henkie Lundqvist.

Best game of the season so far for the Hawks
