Can't remember the last time I was this excited about the team going into a season opener. By far the deepest forward group the flames have put together, probably since their glory years. And with ]Valimaki cracking the starting lineup, probably the deepest bottom half of the defense in that time too.
Still some question marks about Smith's overall level of play and durability, but nonetheless I'm having to stamp down my expectations that this will be a huge year for the team.

Flames dominate but lose. Smith looks rusty, Bennett takes OZone penalties, Brodie’s brain farts, Neal looks old slow and uninterested, coach makes questionable choices.....basically deja vu just to tease us.
They win the next game and never look back on their way to President’s trophy
