Smith has been hot garbage since his hot start last year. Hope we are looking around for some help or it’s going to be a wasted years.

I hate the PP imo. The setup doesn't get the PK moving at all. Nobody is open on the far side, it's just a bunch of near side passing. Hopefully it's just rust.

Excellent shift to finish off the period, and that last PP looked much better. Clearly the special teams will need a lot of work before the regular season starts.
I still have faith in Smith, but man, he's looked rusty the entire preseason. Hopefully a couple more hard practices will help him get ready for Wednesday.

Which goal are people complaining about? One of the two cross crease passes or the one where Tkachuk tipped it perfectly into the top corner of his own net?
My only issue with Smith was that awfully dangerous pass he made in front of his own net.

To be fair, with the guys in front of them on the roster this year... that's where likely the majority of other coaches would assume they fit as well.

I really like the camera angle they are showing the PP from a lot more now, from above center ice. Makes it easier to see what's really going on.

Haven’t been able to catch any of this game yet but 32-13 in shots is fantastic but the 3 goals against on 13 shots is worrisome. Smith look bad?

Only issue with Smith so far is he has been terrible handling the puck. Can't really blame him on the goals but I would have liked him to stop at least one.

When the Flames get a new arena the roof will support a camera to provide that angle

The PP seems to value puck control but in the end we aren’t generating too many chances or making the opposition move creating holes.

Problem is the guys receiving passes in the middle of the ice don't have their sticks angled at the net or ready to one-time from that spot. They collect the puck first and are not positioned to shoot toward net so they turn away and pass back to the guys on the outside. They've got to be ready to shoot or tip that puck on quickly. Otherwise all the possession and passing isn't going to result in anything.
But I guess then again you have Neal and Monahan out who are your trigger men.

Powerplay needs to move more, and a few bad bounces, otherwise I'm liking what I'm seeing.

This. If Monahan is in the slot for some of those PPs there are some guaranteed goals.

100%
I love the added little play going down low then immediately out to the slot. There are things this PP does that simply didn't happen last year
Also, the commentary about the Flames losing momentum on the PP, you guys understand this happens to every team right?

Checking in poolside from Mexico.
Streaming the game ok. Meanwhile a Trump supporter is ranting near by to some European group. Going through all the usual Trump talking points including Obama, how Canada's healthcare is a scam, Hillary, immigrants, how he's really not racist but doesn't want any bad immigrants in to commit school shootings, etc. Good times.

He's been ok, but still looks a bit rusty. I'd blame the 3 goals on bad giveaways and sloppy play more than anything. Flames completely dominated the 1st and then took their foot off the gas for the 2nd, allowing the Oilers to gain momentum.
The Oilers still have nothing outside of McDavid. Even during a preseason game, the dude never leaves the ice, and is the only reason they're able to generate offence.
