It's alarming and stupid.
I've seen it done on TV, one of those stupid shows like Canadian Border Guards or some junk. They had a guy suspected of drug trafficking and they searched his phone, those episodes all look at least 10 years old.

But yea, it seems to be happening more regularly now, or we hear about it more anyway.

in 2011 I was asked to unlock my phone and hand over to the USA border guards for examination.

Was Donald trump president then? Was a long time ago I can’t remember.

I remember an episode where there was a Furry coming in from Hawaii to visit some Canadian friends. They searched his laptop and ended up denying him entry for some reason or another.

What exactly are you arguing against here?
Lol, you just go ahead with your head in the sand and earplugs on.

If you’re entering the States they can deny admission to the country. If it’s Canada, you also cannot refuse.

Crossing into North Dakota near Esteban my two friends and I were detained in the border station and interrogated one by one. The border officer went through my phone and wallet and asked me if I had ever used illegal drugs. I said no. Asked me specifically about marijuana. Said no. Asked me again about marijuana and I said no. We were in there for over 2 hours, and it happened in 2012.

I'm pretty sure they've always been dicks about this.

We are less than 3 weeks away and I haven't heard a whole lot in terms of what it is gonna look like when the dispensaries open their doors.

Where are the dispensaries? The city of calgary site lists "Released" and "approved" applications, but I'm not sure what either of those even mean.

I'm assuming getting weed on Oct 17th is gonna be crazy. But I haven't seen much in terms of public information or publicity.

Which stores are opening Oct 17th? Where are they? What are their hours? Will they have enough supply? Are they all gonna be like in Vegas where it's like going to a doctor's office? Apparently there is one in a strip mall right by my house but I can't even find out what it is called or if it is opening on the 17th.

Even NewLeaf which appears to be one of the more prominent dispensaries won't give specific information on where there stores will be.

I've heard stores advertising on the radio already. Didn't pay enough attention to know what or where, but I think there will be more of that upcoming soon

Heard the feds are cracking down on online sales soon, and that dispensaries can only sell bud with a max thc of 12%. Anything higher has to come from an LP via prescription. Also heard the TAX is min $8/gm.

All heresay of course, .but a lot of info I got from these guys has been right in the past.

I would think that information would be public by now. If taxes, THC levels etc haven't been decided on at a Federal level there's no way in hell local dispensaries are opening in 3 weeks. Think of the amount of bud they'd potentially have to reject that's already been earmarked for sales.

Not sell, destroy, save for future use, I don’t know what they’d do with it. That’s what I’m wondering.

AFAIK most point-of-sale operations are dealing directly with the government to gain approvals, most have acquired a lawyer to help them navigate the legislation, and I think most are aware that it’s still a moving target.

From a supply side, the job of licensed producers doesn’t really change either way (as they’re still producing for the medicinal side).

I assume it will be a bit of a mad scramble to get the first run of stock, but it’s hard to say.
