I thought Bennett was pretty good.

Scoring chance, good on the PK, big hit and a fight, couple of nice quick-stick defensive plays.

Penalty was bad but kind of a soft call.

If the flames get 82 games of that from bennett (minus the penalty), they'll be in good shape.

Huge 2 points!

Flames looked like they fell asleep in the 3rd, and the PP suddenly struggled. But Smith made a big save at the end there, and they found a way to close out the game and get the W, which we didn't see a lot of last year.

Still some things to work on before Oct. 3rd, but for the most part I've liked what I've seen. This is a very skilled, fast, and deep roster, and these guys should be fun to watch this year.

No. I had no trouble. It's either a troll job or your understanding of hockey is troubled.

Loving the speed on this team now, amazing how a few additions makes such a huge difference in entertainment value.

I liked how Valimaki played tonight, jumping up into the play, no glaring defensive errors. I think it will be hard to send him down. He is already better than Kulak, no?

I think Smith will be ready come game 1, he was more focused this game.

Dube can skate and forecheck really well, please keep him around for a 9 game stint please Tre?

How dare you introduce login into the Bennett conversation?

Flames let off the gas after netting 4. Until that point were lights out.

Great to see Lindholm, Neal and Hanifin make noticeable impacts.

I think you keep these 12 forwards, but swap Czarnik and Frolik.

Bennett rocked Kane, forcing him to take a selfish penalty late in the game as the Sharks were trying to tie it. Love it!

Lindholms game really impressed me. Even aside from his goals he was forcing turnovers all night long

I am going to provide a hot take here by suggesting the sharks aren't going to be a powerhouse this season. Their top forwards are older, Thornton was pretty invisible, pavelski is in a contract year, and they only have 1 year of Karlsson.

If they start off mediocre i wouldn't be shocked to see them in a battle for a wild card spot.

Maybe it's my wishful thinking.... I hate the cali teams

For me, the biggest positive was the Hanifin - Hamonic pairing, which was excellent. The biggest negative was the power play, which did not generate all that much and allowed a SHG.

Ill second the motion. Bennett lacks vision or peripheral vision. Its almost like he has tunnel vision and head down lots

Yeah, Bennett played well. I think some people just need to adjust expectations for him.
He's probably going to be a guy who puts up 30 points and plays hard in the bottom 6. Not what you would hope for out of a 4th overall pick, but he can definitely help the team win.

Hanifin-Hamonic is a nice pairing. Hanifin is gonna be the best player in the trade. Lindholm is a really smart player.

Loved the way they played. PP needs work.

Calling out two players and the PP = #### and moan

Oh wait, Bennett had a fight so people are excited. That's great but I think he was weak on the puck along with Jankowski. Calm down or just block me. No need to get riled up like this

Dube's speed definitely stands out. For a relatively undersized guy, he's very strong on his feet and does well in the corners. Impressed by his physicality and doesn't take crap from anyone. A number of times he took a few hits only to give it right back the same shift.
