Default Preseason Flames @ Sharks. 8:30 MT. Erik Karlsson's Shark Debut

There is no TV broadcast from the Flames or Sharks side.

Will have to wait and see if the teams will provide a stream.

The expectation is that Erik Karlsson will play in a Sharks jersey for the first time. Expect a close to opening day roster for both the Flames and Sharks.

The plan is for the Flames to stay the night in SJ, have a practice Friday morning and then fly to Edmonton for their last preseason game. Question is do they leave anyone behind in Northern California to join the Heat whose first preseason game is on Saturday.

I hope none of the remaining borderline vets dress, it's time to try to develop some chemistry in the final lineup and give Mangiapane, Dube and Andersson a final opportunity to make their case for staying with the main team.
Smith should probably get the net for this one to continue to work toward being in game shape. If he looks like he still needs more time, he could dress again in Edmonton, but in that game I would prefer to see a final duel between the backups to see who stays up.

Give Gillies the start, let Rittich take over half way through. The reverse of what we saw last game. Might be telling.

Would be really encouraging to see a strong goaltending performance tonight by who ever gets the start. We saw Smith have a weak preseason last year but turn it around quickly once the season began, but it sure wouldn’t hurt for him to have some confidence and swagger going into game 1

I think you should go with the Rittich as backup to start the season. It's not like there is a wide gap between him and Gillies right now, and if all goes well, you want to give Gillies the net full time. Best to give him regular starts in the AHL instead of riding the pine.

We don't really care about Rittich's development, with all due respect, so he can sit for long stretches.

If Gillies improves enough to unseat Rittich, then you call him up. But when it's this close, let Gillies have starts instead of Rittich.

I agree with CroFlames. I also put more stock in Rittich's performance last year as back up than his performance as in the preseason. Let Gilles get more playing time in the A and give Rittich 3-5 games in the regular season to prove himself. If not make the switch then.

For whatever that's worth. Hopefully they get their poop in a group.

I'm interested in seeing the Hanifin and Hamonic pair again tonight. They've not had as much time together as I would've expected to date, but looking forward to seeing if this works.

The best stream has usually been their Facebook page for me. Have not had any issues with it

The issue is both Gillies and Parsons can't have regular starts.

It was annoying not being able to watch last game.

Yes so stupid how Sportsnet doesn't air these games. Before they bought the rights I remember being able to watch pretty much all preseason ones. Hopefully it's not blacked out tonight.

When it says regional restrictions does that means it's blacked out inside Calgary area? Or for everyone outside that area?

I'm in Québec and had no problems watching on Flames TV once they resolved their issues at the beginning of the game. Cross my fingers that this will be the case even if it is a 22h30 start here!

I'm very surprised it wasn't picked up by Sportsnet as well. Its Karlsson's Sharks debut. It would attract a lot of eyeballs.

I've never had a problem finding the game "somewhere" online.

I don't like exposing my computer to viruses and spyware. I learned a long time ago that it's not worth it, and pay services ensure that I don't have to worry about that kind of stuff. Hence why I use Gamecenter for all the games. If I can't find it on there or another legitimate source, I don't bother. I can find another way to kill a couple hours.

Yeah I've never had a problem finding the game somewhere online either, however it's not the same as a nice legal high quality tv feed. I'm not that computer literate so trying to hookup my laptop to my tv via HDMI just doesn't give me the same quality. Also what Cali said virus and pop-ups seems to be a pain with those sites. The Flames streams have been great so far but I went to last game worried I'd miss it.
