I used to work from home but now that I drive to work I put on the morning show. It’s sooo bad, I end up putting on my TSN app just so I can get some sports content on my morning drive. Other than their fantasy football picks of course.

Hopefully someone with some personality. I enjoy listening to Kelly Hrudey but I dont like how much he tries to relate things back to himself. Now and again is okay, but ever single broadcast is: "well, when I played the game.."
And then you have Warrener, who is just awful. Not only is he incredibly conceited, but his monotone voice is not well suited for radio. Both he and Boomer are incredibly unprofessional.

Funny I love Warrener in the morning. Guess different strokes for different folks. I can’t stand Hrudey and his bumbling through sentences. Also for a guy with NHL experience compared to me with dick all. It enrages me every time I can see from the initial play it was a tip in and we have to have him yammer on through 3-4 replays questioning if it was a direct shot or a tip until he clues in.

People don't like Kelly Hrudey? Is this real life?

Can we not just run people down who are working their passion for a living? They are not in this business for the money (they make very little), they are in it for their passion for sports and enjoyment of talking about it. You can not enjoy listening to someone, but to call these people idiots is unfair.

Ah boohoo. They are in the entertainment business and us being consumers of it have every right to voice our opinion on it. I'm sure they don't lose sleep over random comments on a fan forum.

Some of its hare-brained, some hilarious and every now and then some is even insightful. But it’s entertaining, and if he was on the radio I’d listen. Sure he’d have to tone down the swearing (a lot!), but it would be great.
I have no confidence that he could interview people, or talk intelligently about anything other than hockey (definitely not soccer), but really if Warrener can do it, what’s the difference? But finally that station would have some personality, which is exactly what it needs.

Plus I have a face for Radio!
As most of my clients know I do love talking sports and generally do not have a problem with insane theories.
Also, I love talking about the Economics of sports. Not just gameplay, but the whole dynamic.
And hey! You chose Spurs! You could have picked any team in the world and you chose Spurs! Thats on you man.
You'd think a lifetime Flames fan would have had more than their fill of Sports-related punishment that they'd pick a better team to follow in another sport.
Thats like becoming a Football fan overnight and choosing to cheer for the Roughriders and the Browns.
Even their diehard fans would incredulously ask 'Why???'

A lot of those personalities actually do read CP, you can criticize their work because they are, as you said, professionals, but they do still have feelings, not to mention, sports journalism is a tough gig right now.
Unless its David Staples. Fire away...

I've really liked Pinder as the afternoon/Flames at 5 guy—more than I expected to. He's less hectoring and argumentative when he gets to be the host as opposed to the wrestling villain.
Speaking of wrestling, I agree with everybody else that Klein is definitely the better third man for the morning show. He's likeable in a way that works well with Dean and Rhett and he's knowledgeable enough to be able to keep them moving.

I’m not big into complaining about the media personalities, most of them I’m fine with. But I am surprised how many people like Klein. There is nothing about him that says ‘give him more air time’. Not particularly insightful, knowledgeable, or good delivery.
But I do like Pinder, I hope he stays.

It's now all dudebro banter about comedy and food, all the time. And when they do talk about sports, their ignorance is almost embarrassing. It's become pretty clear that Pinder was the only one on the show who was really informed or gave sports much thought.

This is why I like Klein.
He is the one guy you can tell actually watches and pays attention to all sports.
Hockey, Football, Baseball, Wrestling, MMA...he actually seems like he enjoys all sports and while not an expert by any means he is at least aware of what is going on in the world of sports.
I don't feel like Will Nault or Matty Rose have that same passion.

I personally don't understand the hate some of the personalities get. Sure its entertainment, but it also costs listeners nothing to listen to them. If it was a paid for service it would be a little more understandable, but as it stands I just love being able to have sports on while I am plugging away during the day.
I really enjoy the addition of Pinder to the afternoon. I still enjoy the morning show for what it is, the passenger in the morning as I get my zombie arse to work. Totally fine with the format as it is just background noise. I don't think I could handle an in depth analysis of anything that early in the morning.

That passion really comes across when they go off on a 10 minute tangent about chicken wings.

Aren’t there like 25 minutes of ads you have to sit through each hour???? Better be damn good if I’m going to do that.

I think the issue some of the listeners have with the morning show is the lack of effort. I like the mix of banter, music, gags etc but it's also important to mix in some sports content. I felt Pinder brought that, but it's been lacking since his departure. The third on the morning show needs to be a strong enough personality to keep the show on the rails to some degree.
My frustration point came early in training camp while the main team was in China. The young guys were playing preseason games, and I tuned in to get an opinion of what they saw/liked... only to hear no one on the panel actually watched the game. I realize it's just preseason, but as fans, we tune into the radio to get opinions and be entertained, and it's sad when they don't even bother to watch... even worse when the joke about the fact that they didn't watch.

Not only that, those two along with Logan Gordon have the conversational tone cadence, pronunciation, and insight of two hosers progressively being overserved at the bar.
The other day one of them just kept on talking over Pinder like an unprofessional clown or a 5 year-old at the controls. The whole station is becoming a joke to me.

Guaranteed that was Nault.
He does that to guests too.
