The players love the retros too, my friend who worked for the Flames mentioned that this morning when my other friend was complaining about them being the same thing.

I'm not so sure. I'm sure they will sell but how many people with retros already are going to spring for another one? I'm not sure I'm going to get one as I have a relatively new retro already. I think a new direction would probably sell more providing it wasn't terrible.

Our eyes and preferences all draw us to different things, and you're not wrong in liking the black in there. I've played around with enough designs to know that black really set something off quite well.

However, we can agree you're in the minority here right? You can dislike things others love, but recognize that the scales are pretty tilted in favour of the retros.

There are other pro and major juniour teams rocking the same palette, and it receives great reviews quite often. There are always people who aren't going to love it, but ask Avs fans about their palette and you can start a war there too. When you have a bold palette like red/white/yellow you're going to draw some criticism.

I'm reading Twitter and having a hard time agreeing with you on the response too. A lot of what I'm seeing really depends on the lense you're looking through.

I'm in the group that thinks it's been done. They should of went with some totally New concept. That said I'm a fan of the black C and would of liked to see that incorporated. I don't hate the third ones, just feels old.

The only reason I think they won't sell as well as they should, is because they're essentially a repeat. A lot of people already had an opportunity to buy a similar jersey last time. Jersey sales are more closely related to unique designs than fan popularity

Disappointed, but relieved...if that makes any sense. Split98 proved you can streamline the proportions and layout and make a "classic" that still looks modern. As much as I appreciate the glory(ish) days, it's still a 1970s design that could be made so much better.

But compared to the primary set, it's a home run.

Make the new retro 3rds the regular home jerseys.

Make a new retro version of the whites from the same era as the new retro 3rds. Use it as the regular away jerseys.

Take the new retro 3rds, put the flaming C logo on the shoulders and put the horse head on the front. Make this the 3rd jersey. It’s wouldn’t be the same, the but kind of like in this picture.

Then you would be done.

They will sell well if one of the new players starts to light it up.
