Rittich doing Gillies a big favor tonight. Doing everything wrong. Does Dube's preseason performance shake someone loose in pursuit of a goaltender?

Siemens had a real great view of that last one.

With the hype of Dube wearing off... looking back at this one got me thinking that none of the PTOs are overly impressing me. Seimens was alright I guess. But part of that is I was hoping he would be as he's got late bloomer potential based on his Jr. years and draft position.

No, we should tell him to forget this one and play him again next game.

You don't give up on a goalie after one pre-season game. Especially a guy that played in the NHL last year.

People need to relax.

Other than Dube and some flashes from the EatBread/Foo line, there wasn't a lot to get excited about.

Bit of a dud from the rookie/PTO group tonight. And unfortunately morale plays a factor when your goalie's not making saves he should.

Oh well, that's what preseason's for. Shake it off, move on.

Rittich will bounce back... I still boldly predict he'll be #1 by the end of the season.

Goalies are typically a little slower to start is camp, so hopefully rittich can rebound

They could all play with blindfolds. Doesn’t matter. It’s not acceptable to lose to the Oilers.

What happened when he was given starting duties in a backup role and given the opportunity to succeed and prove himself? He played terribly. He didn't look ready. He looks the same after tonight's game. I would love to be proven wrong and have crow buffet, but you're only as good as your last game. Given the latest sample size of Rittichs games, I am, at this point, not confident in his play.

Nah.

There's a good chance Dube is the only skater tonight that will have anything to do with the NHL team on opening night, and he was great.

Only concern would be Rittich. He needs to get his #### together.

Flames deserved a better fate in this one. Thought they outplayed the Oilers, and by a good margin. Rittich didn't look good. Rest of the team looked not bad. Dube was on another level out there. For the Oilers, Yamamoto showed he is capable of cherry picking with the best of the NHL Oilers.

Too much overreaction here. Its just a first preseason game with second grade players.
