There's not a single regular roster player on that list that was drafted by Edmonton outside of the first round.
Truly pathetic drafting and development.
EDIT: Jujhar "Binks" Khaira (3rd rounder) can be considered, but can't say he's a full-time regular...
Technically, Rieder was a second or third round Oilers pick (can't remember which) but made a name for himself in Arizona. Most notably when he scored two shorthanded goals in the same shift against the Oilers.
The former head coach of the Calgary Flames, now Todd McLellan’s right-hand man on his new Edmonton Oilers coaching staff, wasn’t sure what he was going to see behind former enemy lines with the team on other side of Alberta hockey’s Mason-Dixon line.
He likes what he sees. Really, really likes what he sees.
okay.

No. 1, of course, is Connor McDavid.
“When I met him, I told him ‘I might still be coaching Calgary if you hadn’t played here.’ ”
what?

Jones (and Kevin Lowe) must be very aroused to have a quotes of a former Calgary coach to serve platitudes about the Oilers team, the arena and organization, as a backhanded shot to Calgary and the Flames organization more than anything, as I am sure Jones also did when Risebrough became assistant GM up there back when.
GG is partially right, even if he made the playoffs year 2, it is inexcusable and a fireable offence on its own, that the Flames lose all games in a season against the Oilers and get one win out of the 9 games. Even when the Oilers were good in the days of kick save goalies, and 3 local tv channels with Gretzky putting up 200 points, or the various shortened lockout season, the Flames always beat the Oilers in a season.
The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!

These camp raw videos are kind of amazing in that everyone sounds like they are already defeated and somehow need to find a way to make something, anything, happen, but all sound resigned to another year of suck. You compare it to all the quotes form the new and old Flames, and they all sound pumped and ready to go for it. It's excitement and positivity. The Oilers just sound like a bunch of Eeyore's, waiting for the inevitable.
