Still hurts that we took McDonald over Demko who was pretty widely accepted at the time as the better goalie. One of those "smartest guy in the room" picks that has not aged well.

I grew up in Red Deer. I think it was always probably 60/40 Oilers fans. It is probably getting more oiler with McDavid. I'm sure 80% of kids in Alberta are going to cheer for McDavid.

I know goalies develop late, but you have to imagine that the Flames don't offer McDonald another contract after his ELC unless he has a really good year....which seems unlikely at this point.

Listen to 960 instead of the Oiler bozos man. I didn't even think of the 960 radio stream because I was watching the live video too, but it's so much better and now I've got the video muted with our radio play by play over top instead.
The Oilers guys sound like they're broadcasting through cheap gaming headsets and the crackly audio is terrible, not to mention the homerism. 960 always has pretty clear audio.

I hit mute on the stream soon after every oilers prospect was "up and coming" or "looks to have the right tools" and seemingly most of the comments on the Flames group has been prefaced by "He's lacking the ___ to become an effective ___"

Agreed that he has a lot to prove.
However, 5 minutes into his first game action of the year is a little early to write off his season.

He still has the same problems that I saw 2 or 3 years ago. He's not progressing.
