Falcons just have no creativity in the red zone - three trips to the red zone resulted in 3 turnovers. Just brutal.

Also did Calvin Ridley even play tonight...I can’t recall him being targeted at all

Well at least Foles started to look a bit better towards the end of the game and we now have 10 days to fix that abomination of an offense. Buttery soft schedule coming up (Bucs, Titans, Colts) and then hopefully Wentz should be back.

You have to give the Eagles credit for having a very good defense but Ryan was awful. It's no wonder their red zone offense is terrible when the QB is fixated on throwing to one guy. Jones is a great receiver but you are making things way too easy for defenses by throwing 19/43 passes to one receiver.

Watching Matt Ryan run an offense, I'm convinced Aaron Rodgers could have demanded majority shares in the Packers and It would have been reasonable.

I think he's a good QB but what we are seeing with him is the effect a really good OC can have on a QB vs a mediocre on. Kyle Shanahan was calling an offense that was putting Ryan in position to succeed and Sarkisian is leaving too much of the decision making to Ryan. Saw it last season with the Raiders when they mistakenly fired Musgrave and promoted Todd Downing to OC who had never been a coordinator at any level. Carr ended up with a QB rating last season of 86 which isn't horrible but the offense was so predictable and vanilla that it was just way too easy for opposing defenses to take away everything the Raiders wanted to do. I'm stunned they actually won 6 games with the worst offensive and defensive coordinators in the league. Coaching matters so much in the NFL and if you don't have quality coaches regardless of talent you will fail.

I think it's more Ryan than coaching though. In that Super Bowl season they were spreading the ball around to their skill players a lot more. Ryan is forcing too much to Julio, and they really don't have a great TE which is becoming a must in today's NFL. Not that Sarkisian should be devoid of blame, he needs to be more creative in how to get the ball to other guys, but Ryan just relies on Julio too much and it makes them easy to play against.

Anyone who watched that game last night should never complain about the CFL ever again.

I'm not sure anyone complains about the CFL. It's just a minor league and always will be.

Right, because there's never been a terrible game in CFL. I've seen worse Grey Cup finals than that game.

I do love the inferiority complex CFL fans have though. The NFL broadcasts anywhere from 12-16 games per week and sometimes you get some stinkers. The CFL at most will broadcast what, like 5 games? And they're probably lucky to bat .250 even with that small sample size.

Why even compare? The CFL is fine for what it is, although the regular season might be the least relevant regular season in sports....and I mean every league in the world.

Why is it an inferiority complex? I just want some entertaining football. CFL rules give you a way better chance of that then NFL ones do.

NFL broadcasts only allow you to watch 5 full games a week anyways.

Still better than watching an NHL game between Florida and the Islanders i guess.

Both leagues have their pros and cons. You can flip through this thread and the CFL thread and people complain about both leagues. Last night's game was pretty boring. I wish the NFL went to 3 pre season games so the starters week 1 wouldn't be so rusty.

I mean I guess in the same way that some people probably think slo-pitch rules give you a more entertaining game of baseball.

NFL is slow pitch with their timing rules. Can you run the ball a few more times? haha

Well yeah, 18 people with minimum BACs of .15 and little idea how to actually play the sport is always gonna be entertaining.

The CFL had a game this year where Edmonton beat Toronto 16-15, in which there were three "good try" single points scored.

Yeah

Offensive play-calling in the NFL for most teams is about 55-60% pass plays. How much more do you want? Also, last I checked, running was part of the game. Forgive me for wanting a bit more variety and strategy in my games than just straight up huck and chuck. This is akin to people wanting bigger nets in hockey so there will be more goals.
