You probably would have gotten 100/1 odds these two would play a five setter without a tiebreak. Of course, there is a breaker in the fifth so we'll see.

Unfortunate for Milos. Isner is still a disgrace to the sport so hopefully he goes next round.

I like Isner.

Those dirtballers like Carreno-Busta and Mannarino are a disgrace :P

Saying anti-tennis is better than negative tennis is like saying getting AIDS is better than incurable brain cancer, so choose your poison I guess.

it's not negative tennis. It's power, volleying and aggressiveness.

Maybe others here who watch more tennis than me can comment on it, but to me Raonic has only marginally improved over the last 5 years or so. I know Isner is good and has been playing well but you would think Raonic at this point in his career would be able to easily handle a 33 year old Isner. Just seems that he has not added enough to his game since he was 22-23. I guess injuries could play a role but it just sucks to see him really stagnate as a player.

He'd be ranked 950 (being generous) without the power. It's textbook anti-tennis, just like Karlovic (who serves and volleys and is aggressive too). If he gets Rafa in the semis, he's gonna get humiliated far worse than the last two guys Rafa faced, and they as far as I know have never been ranked in the top 20. Anti-tennis can go very, very far as we know.

Because Raonic has stagnated. He's gotten everything out of his awkward frame. Isner is the more talented player. He's not just a lug.

Milos gifted him that.

I like it much better when players earn their win than when they have it handed to them

Well that’s disappointing, hopefully Shapo and Aliassime make big strides in the future.

You must not watch him enough. Yes he's tall and awkward too but he can rally and he pretty much injury free in his career. He's fit at 33.

He has a decent backhand, better than Raonic's disaster of one. He's been in tough, long matches and pressure situations. He's good on all surface and Good in Davis Cup and finally, he was the first player to take Nadal to 5 sets at Roland Garros

Final ace count: 38. Disappointing, especially after such a promising opening set, but I won't beat a dead horse.

del Po vs Coric should be a good one tonight.

Isner has never had injuries, and only reached the top 10 for the first time recently (which happens to coincide with a steep decline in the men's game). And with his serve, if Isner was half the player off the ground you think he is, he would have not made his maiden Wimbledon fourth round (!!!!!!!!!!) this year (which means, of course, Pospisil had a better Wimbledon record until this year). I know you're going contrarian to the extreme here, but it's a bit much.
