For the first quarter he literally talked about the Packers vs Bears first game. He didn't even bother trying to call the game. Just talking nonstop. Anyways rant over.
I wonder who will start for the Bills in game one? Probably Peterman?

There are a lot of horrible local radio and TV crews. I was listening last week to a Redskins radio broadcast on Satellite radio last week and it was the worst sports broadcast of any sport I have ever heard. There was a couple of old color guys rambling incoherently to the point I thought maybe it was a joke or something.

I'm biased as a Packer fan but i've read a lot that most seem to believe Rodgers actually took a lesser deal then people thought. He basically took the Matt Ryan deal with a small increase despite being the far superior QB. I don't think this has a big a ramification on the Packers chances to win as some are putting out there as the deal is not quite as punitive or big as it sounds. Heck there is a good chance Kirk Cousins earns as much or more than Rodgers over the next 4 years.

I believe his contract bonuses will count against the cap this year and in subsequent years. But I agree, he could have held the Packers by their heels and emptied their pockets. Still enough money that the Packers, I assume, will be cutting some familiar names in the near future.
Clay Mathews and Randall Cobb have both been hot garbage the last few years and I would imagine you see them moved out... Just still dontbubderstand how they outlasted Jordy Nelson on cap casualties.
Impressive contract for Rodgers none the less... 1 million dollars for a half of football

I think most of those decisions were already coming with or without a Rodgers contract. Packers have a few too many guys geting on their last legs or getting to injury prone to be worth their contracts that were on the bubble even before Rodgers got his deal. Packers really need to turn their drafting into a strength again and hopefully Gute got off to a good start as so far Alexander and Jackson look very solid.

And big ups to Gruden, his plan to rob Mark Davis of $100 million in about two years is already well ahead of schedule. Let's see if he can get himself fired after one year to commit the greatest robbery we've seen.

I'm guessing the Raiders hope they can draft an elite pass rusher with those extra draft picks, those are pretty hard to find I hear.

This just sounds too good to be true. Getting Khalil Mack out the the AFC West is fine by me.
Oddly enough Gruden probably has better cash flow than Davis. His plan must be to put Davis in a position where he has to give him the Raiders.

I think Rube factored in the Raiders being the Raiders and Gruden being Gruden, so 6 wins was a good call. Can't wait for them to trade Carr for Josh McCown.

Well that's some news! Love it. The Bears have needed a pass rusher forever and two firsts for one of Macks calibre is well worth it

Nice parting gift to the fans in Oakland. Ridiculous.
Glad to see Mack out of the division though.

Now for a bit of Bears perspective, pressure ratchets up for Trubisky. Their window is gonna be while he's on his rookie deal, because Mack is apparently signing for a bigger deal than Donald just signed for. At the same time, this is what you do now in the NFL, the Eagles are the prime example. When you think you have the QB, go all in while he costs you far below market value.

Not sure why the Bears think they have the QB though. Trubisky didn't show enough last year to even approach that mindset.

Fully agree, but if that defense pans out as it could, Trubisky isn't gonna have to be much better than league average and they'll be a playoff team. Also the conference imbalance is starting to get to NBA levels, the NFC is an absolute murderers row.

It’s back to the mid 80’s level. Even with the add of Mack does it push the Bears ahead of Minnesota or Aaron Rogers? I have no idea who will win the NFC this year. You don’t even have to think to pick New England in the AFC.
In a way though Gruden knows he’s there for a long time. The pick for 2019 year could still be top half of the draft. So with the picks and money he can build something in Vegas. Take two years for Brady and Bellichick to fade off and there likely is no one left in the AFC. Hopefully he fails though.

Trubisky has the talent and can make all the throws, his stats last year were far from pretty but as someone who watched every game, those stats should come wth a big fat asterisk.
The Bears tried too hard to shelter MT by never throwing on first downs, limiting his downfield range... basically they used him the way you would a third string "hand the ball off, don't turn it over."
You would think that if a team used a quarterback that way it's not very encouraging but Trubisky has all the tools and Matt Nagy/Mark Helfrich are the types of coaches who can design an offense to support him

Honestly if Mack didn't play a down for the Raiders this season I think they still have their best pass rush in years. That said I fully expect Mack to be back with the Raiders before the opener as he's due to make $13.85 million this season and every game he misses is money he will never get back at almost a million per game.

Member that time the raiders weren’t gonna trade Mack? I member.

hate seeing Mack coming into the division but no question the cost is going to be massive.
Packers were in on him right til the end but Gute clearly decided he wasnt worth the cost.
Not sure this helps the Bears as much as he could some other teams other than helping provide shorter fields for a very challenged (to this point at least) offense. Mind you Mack is a freakish athlete....so maybe he can line up as a TE or something.
