Man... when Denis plays like he is in this match so far, it's truly scary. He just slid into a volley at net on Anderson's serve. Missed it, did a little hop, back to receive another. If you're Anderson that has to be unnerving.

OH MY GOODNESS THAT RETURN

Whatever his issue is, it wasn't obvious to me while he was playing.

The fact that Anderson had a total of one ace in that set tells you a lot about Denis's ability to get his racket on everything.

Nice opening set, Denis. Like you guys mentioned, I like his variety. He’s not forcing things.

Small forward - He moves better than Isner, who's two inches taller. Put John at center.

No he isn't. Thiem won the third set tiebreak.

of all the big names, Rafa has the most capacity for sticking with it until Karen's level drops and/or his own level goes up. that being said, has he been wearing that knee wrap all tournament?

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather Fritz won, in case Denis can somehow pull this out... but actually, it'd be a pretty interesting matchup against Thiem. I think the best version of Denis is a better version of Thiem.

Man, that lefty serve that pulls Anderson way off the court is such a nice weapon to have.

Interestingly, the USTA decided to re-visit the Lahyani mess from yesterday with another statement. No punishment, but an admission that the umpire broke protocol. Which is something. This'll do far more to get people to move on than the crap fluff they put out last night was ever going to.

Anderson is perhaps playing a bit better, but Denis also seems to have lost some of the energy he showed in set 1.

EDIT: And there's a break for Anderson, which he absolutely earned that break by making Denis hit more shots.
