It will be interesting to see how Poch deals with this. I could see him sat and stripped of his captaincy. That likely means Vorm plays on Monday, which isn't ideal, but drinking and driving isn't going to sit well with the club.

He's French though!
Being an inconsiderate jerkface is his God-Given right!

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Lol I’d be surprised if he missed this weekend. These teams don’t give a ####
Not sure how club will handle it, but if he was suspended a few games it would be justified
Pochs book made it very clear how important personal conduct was to him, so I would be surprised if he just lets this blow over, even if its just handled internally

This is the thing I never get sometimes.

Just always reminds me of the Jim Rome Celebrity Drunk Bus. It's sad someone really should start a service for celebrities and athletes so they don't drive drunk, but yeah. And not that I'm condoning drinking and driving at all, but at least the average Joe can try and use money as an excuse. Not so much for guys on £100,000 a week.

Ask your wife FFS!
"Hey baby, I want to go out and get leathered, can you drop me off and pick me up?"
Seriously, if you want to go out and get obliterated then power to you, but you're a millionaire! Find a way home!

Fergies man management was incredible, didnt he lecture at harvard on it as well?
As bagor said he had no problem with the hair dryer treatment, but the difference with him and jose is that the players respected him
Respect can be gained in many ways, SAF did it through winning but also in how he treated everyone in his man management. He made that united dressing room a family, so it wasnt just ripping into someone for the sake of it, it was tough love for the benfit of everyone
Jose has done the winning part, but has shown he has no loyalty to players or clubs.
You look at the most well thought of managers in the league right now and its pretty clearly poch, pep, and klopp
All 3 work very differently but you can tell how much loyalty their players have to them, and you can see how much they care about their players, whether its kane, kdb, or salah or clyne, foyth, and delph. First names on the team sheet or last names on the subs bench
The reason why zidane works, and why he worked at Madrid is because he already has the built in respect based on the fact that its effing zizou, but he very clearly held a Madrid squad together that might have the biggest collection of egos ever assembled. He played the best squad he had, even if it meant sitting bale, benzema, ascensio when he felt others would help the team win more
Mourinho isnt afraid to sit his best players, but its as some sort of mental powerplay, and to the detriment of the team
Plus as time went on he did show he had good tactical nous, he really won a few cl games with great subs, and also surprised teams with formation changes that messed up their planning
I think he'd be a great hire for United, i wonder if hes waiting for a job in Italy or france though. I know there was some speculation about him as french coach, but i think hes too young, and taking it after they win a WC isnt great timing

I don't know why these clubs dont have a service, no questions asked, call for a ride if you need it. Ive heard it brought up when nfl players get in trouble but it still seems like its not done

It wouldnt surprise me if there was something like this in LA or NY underground
The bc government keeps delaying allowing uber here, for the benefit of their reelections not the people, but what its led to is in richmond, which is a heavily asian community. There are invite only apps that work as a private uber so to speak, and only allow mandarin speakers i believe, there are a few of the apps, i only know of the few big ones the news covered
There must be a celebrity version of it, i could see the big agencies setting it up for all clients
I actually do think there's something for NFL players, I think they talk about it at the rookie symposium. Either way, even if there was something, I think it's just some ####ed up pride thing like "I'm fine to drive, and even if I'm not, I can still do it". Always tough to explain the actions of a drunk.

I don't disagree with that, and you would think they should. That said though, I think a lot of these clubs expect their players to refrain from drinking during the season. I mean realistically, the guy spent the night in jail, I can't imagine he'll be in his finest form come Monday. But even aside from that, they can't be happy with the players out tying one on, regardless of whether they're driving after.

There's also the "I can't take Uber because I might rape the driver" issue for some dudes in the NFL, too.
I'm guessing he's stripped of the captaincy, and fined by the club for bringing it into disrepute based on something in his contract. Quite lucky in that he is the captain as Spurs can be seen to be doing something without having to drop him for a game.
Unfortunately the UK law won't allow him to get fined at the level of Reus.
