Let me know when a crooked teeth model with a massive jowls wins a pageant.

e: are we just going to pretend this lady doesn't have 1 in a million facial bone structure and a AAA rack?

Isn't the primary purpose of these pageant is to judge a person appearance? How are these not taken into consideration?

They are called beauty pageants for a reason. You have to meet a certain standard in beauty in order to have a shot at winning.

sure and tell me the next time someone with short crook legs makes the nhl.
That stuff gets weeded out at pee pee level. Same with crooked teeth.

There is a standard of beauty yes but it doesn't get down to jaw structure or chest shape. If you're not confident or can't talk you're done. The top 5 interview usually decides the global pageants.

For the judges of a beauty pageant it is normal to look at flaws to differentiate between impossibly beautiful woman.

For a person on a message board to single out those flaws as if she’s a freak, not so much.

I don't see much of a difference to be honest. It isn't like the judges know more about beauty then we do. It is all subjective. It's not like they're scientists judging a science fair or anything.

The only reason we think it is weird is that we assume the people in the competitions are far too beautiful to deserve internet judgement. And most of that comes from a belief that all of us would be lucky to ever land a woman half that beautiful.

I actually think people believe it’s weird because people treat the internet like their little bubble, instead of the massive public entity that it is.

Sure, maybe her jawline DOES factor into her judgement. Who knows. But what we can guarantee is that none of these people who say it to her face, including the judges, and that’s why it’s weird.

I wouldn't tell Troy Brouwer he sucks to his face either, but I'd say it on a message board, and nobody would ask me to show my hockey skills to compare to his.
My observation isn't "2/10 would not bang", it's more like one of those things that once seen cannot be unseen, and I wanted to share it because it might not be obvious to many of you - particularly that she's deliberately embraced her unusual jawline as a differentiating feature. (Either that, or there's an awful lot of coincidence in that photo set and somebody should tell her.)

I’ve dabbled in portrait photography and I’ve been taught that facing the “not good” side to the camera can hide an imperfection. I think having her right side back shows a better contour against the background. But I’m not a pro so I’m likely wrong.

My old gripe with what you posted is the word “weird”. It has connotations that her jawline ruins her face, and not a nearly-perfect woman with small flaws.

Also, I was being hyperbolic in my previous statement. I would see her flaws if I were looking for them. But just seeing the photos as they were posted I only saw her beauty. Being hyper-critical can ruin art. I have musician friends who do that constantly and it’s annoying.

Just wondering if anyone saw Miss America last night? I watched portions of it and quite enjoyed the new format. It actually felt a bit like a game show.

"From a state with 84 percent of the U.S. fresh water but none for its residents to drink, I am Miss Michigan, Emily Sioma," she said during the broadcast.

Yeah I found that it was casual rather than the spectacle that is Miss USA. Miss America has always been different with the talent competition.

The hosts mentioned that it was the NEW Miss America 2.0 way too many times and patting themselves on the back. Yes it's been rebranded, we know that.

Is it actually called '2.0'? Any marketer who thinks using version numbering for a TV show(or other unnecessary product) and does it un-ironically deserves a swift kick in the kneecap.

			Does anyone really care anymore?

I mean lets be honest, at its height it had big TV ratings because of hot girls in swim suits (in the day before readily available internet porn). Now its pretty much just a show that people watch just for the unintentional comedy that comes out of it.

I mean what's it about? Judging a near impossible standard of beauty that some people spend a life time obsessing over and pursuing?

Just let it die and take all those creepy kid pagents with it.
