Hate Kesler but come on guys. I mean god forbid we let our athletes spice it up a bit. It’s a pretty harmless tweet most likely made in jest can’t understand all the outrage over it other then that it’s Kesler.

I actually love it. Even though I hate Kesler I love seeing athletes being colorful. I wrote a blog about it on BLT and to sum it up... I'd would be down to see an old school wwf Ryan vs Ryan cage match.

It’s his hip, isn’t it? I think that’s what it was/is.

Yeah it was his hip. Iirc if he recovers from the surgery best case scenario for him he doesn't play until Feb or March, more likely the entire year

Must have always pivoted funny when he was constantly crosschecking people in the neck off faceoffs. Scum

Not sure why you fee the need to be an apologist. No one seems outraged. Just a lot of people pointing out Kesler is a pos and always has been. And water is wet.

I lean towards this being in jest also, because as was pointed out early on in this thread, can't see the guy in a position where there isn't others to hide behind if the going gets tough. Kesler is one of the biggest fake-tough guys in recent memory. He and Burrows were poster-boys for that incarnation of the Vancouver Canucks. They were made for each other.

Maybe his Twitter was hacked.

Wonder if the nhl took any notice of this.

Because it’s kesler, I’m certain he meant it. Because he’s a super big bad tough guy and all.

I believe it is an ongoing issue with his self-respect.

Threatening another athlete with off ice violence isn’t spicing it up a bit.

When people talk about more personality from NHLers, this isn’t what they meant.

Johansen and Kesler are probably sitting around the fire together drinking some beers at some lake in Michigan or Ontario and someone said, "wouldn't it be funny if you tweeted..."

And here we are.

For all we know, both guys mended bridges and it was just a joke. I think that's the most likely scenario.

Also Twitter 'fights' that end up becoming news are stupid.

I refuse to believe that Ryan Kessler has friends.

Coming from any other player, yes. But coming from Kessler? The shoe fits.

Quote:
For the uninitiated, Johansen and Kesler don’t much care for each other. Johansen, after a particularly nasty game between the Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks during the 2017 Western Conference final, wondered aloud how Kesler’s family could even like him.

Even a relatively tame Twitter beef is enough to jolt the NHL from its August slumber. Johansen responded to Kesler’s tweet with his own, offering to “pay for your parking.”

“I don’t know what he was doing that day,” Johansen said. “Clearly I don’t think he was thinking right because he made a little bit of a fool of himself.”

If things escalated further, Johansen wouldn’t say.

Definitely just Kesler out drinking and his buddies goaded him into it.

Quite funny. but at the same time, kesler is a jerk so he deserves the backlash
