What if the Calgary Flames could win 3 consecutive Stanley Cups, but only after Edmonton and Vancouver win 2 each?

Whatever I do, it's not my choice. Couldn't do anything differently anyways.

But I don’t think you would believe a person who would tell you that you lived in a deterministic universe so I think you would believe that you had a choice at the time.
And even in a deterministic universe you would have same self questioning over what decision you should make even if the outcome was predetermined so you always have the appearance of free will even if the outcome is always the same

Or to put a finer point on it, would you want to know when and how you'll die?

If I don't believe them that it's a deterministic universe, then your question is just asking whether or not I would accept the power to see into the future if offered to me.
Yes, I would.

Sure I would, if the future can't really be changed. I'm pulling a Biff Tanner and looking at every single sporting event for the next 30 years and betting heavily on them, the same with the stock market.
If those events can't be changed and are going to happen and my death is 40 years away, it goes to guess that I would always take advantage of this power and become rich beyond my dreams.
I'm meant to cheat the system.

The OP choices would be better as Would You Rather.
Would you rather have immortality and unlimited wealth or meet your true love? If you take the wealth and eternity you'll forever be alone. If you take true love you'll live a life of poverty.
Would you rather have eternal life and wealth or world peace forever? If you take the wealth and eternity the world will never know peace. If you take world peace you'll die as the last violent act on earth.

Would you rather live your life with unrelenting self-confidence and a lack of self-consciousness but always be emitting an aroma of poo, or to be found instantly attractive by everyone you meet while internally suffering from deep feelings of inadequacy that never leave you?

You know what always bothered me about the sports almanac in that movie? It looks to be about the size of a regular magazine, yet it contains every sports result in football (NCAA included as demonstrated in one scene, of which there are hundreds of teams), baseball and GD horse racing over a period of 50 years! The almanac should be at least the size of a phone book!

I’ll take confidence and poo, crippling anxiety sucks.
