All day the talking heads said the Nationals aren't contenders.
They've put up 25 so far.

I became a Mets fan when Gary Carter was traded there in 1984. The first couple of years, life as a Mets fan was pretty good.
It's nights like tonight when I truly understand what it means to be a real Mets fan.
25 - 4 ?!?!?

My Astros are sure getting criticized for the Osuna deal. Specifically Luhnow’s comments that they have a “zero tolerance” policy and did an unprecedented amount of due diligence.
He is a brilliant GM but this was trade was totally unnecessary and reflects poorly on the organization.

SS Jose Reyes pitching 49 mph sidearm pitches. Gave up 6 runs in his inning, which is better than the starter (7 in 2/3s)

There's no real way to make hypocrisy look good. Inevitably, as Luhnow demonstrated, even trying just makes you look worse.

Pierce just hit his 2nd home run of the game, this Red Sox Yankees game is of course nuts.

Red Sox have scored 6 in the 4th and there are still 0 outs.
They have 4 stolen bases in this game for a season total of 84. The Red Sox!
In comparison the Jays are stolen 30.

Giants reliever Ray Black made his major league debut on July 8. The first 4 batters he faced went walk, walk, popup, homer. He was taken out of that game.
Since then he has pitched 9 and 1/3 hit less innings. The reliever's no hitter!

With Bartolo Colon’s 246th win last night, he passes Dennis Martínez for most wins by a pitcher from Latin America

Love walk off homeruns. Especially grand slams when down by 3 runs.

Ronald Acuña Jr. is a beast! He makes MLB history as the youngest player to hit a home run in 5 consecutive games. Also his third straight game with a lead off homer.

Ronald Acuña Jr just hit his 8th homer in 8 days. In that span he is batting .471/.514/1.235 with eight home runs, 13 runs scored, and 15 runs batted in, all out of the leadoff spot.

Yeah the Braves look like they could have a nice long run in the NL East here again. Acuna is like Trout....but with other players around him.

All five fans of the Miami Marlins should be absolutely ashamed of their organization right now. Ronald Acuña Jr. gets nailed with a 97 mph fastball deliberately on the first pitch of the game.
