Yes. He rolled over his leg very awkwardly. Got up with help from the trainers and walked off the field with them, but then went very, very gingerly down the steps as he went into the dugout.

Wel that sucks. He looks like a star in the making. Just gotta hope it’s not too serious.

Gibbons said it's a knee and ankle contusion. He said results from the X-ray aren't back yet but his ankle swelled up pretty bad.

If the Jays are trying to trade him now I can only assume that there is some heavy risk of one and/or the other (Visa/Prison) involved (and they'd be in more of a position to know then anyone) otherwise it'd make way more sense to wait until the off-season.

Being a public traded company there could be some pressure as well from institutional investors.

According to Ken Rosenthal the Jays came close to moving Osuna at last year's trade deadline and a Jays beat writer, whose name escapes me, mentioned he had heard there were whispers in the organization that even before the incident the Jays front office were not the biggest Osuna fans. Concerns about who he spent his time with and his off season program in Mexico.
Crappy timing again, but sounds like this is a player the Jays want to move irregardless of the case which makes a ton of sense anyway.

It was always #Bluejays plan to trade Osuna this year if the season went sideways, DV charge or otherwise. Question now is how much has his value tanked, and will they deal him for pennies on the dollar or do they have to wait until the value rebuilds?

It does pose an interesting question for Jays fans, on one hand I don't want this type of person (Osuna) associated with the team I have been cheering for for the last 20+ years, on the other hand I want the Jays to be able to get the appropriate trade value to match the level of talent Osuna has.
Before this I was a huge Osuna fan, he was a fun guy to watch pitch. He has great stuff and even better command.
I have read that there have been serious questions about how much the Jays management want to keep Stroman around as well. While he was injured I remember reading that he may be running some people the wrong way.

4:17pm: Former Astros closer Ken Giles, who had been on optional assignment at Triple-A, is heading to Toronto along with other assets, Rosenthal adds (Twitter links).

according to sources the Astros are getting Roberto Osuna and giving up Ken Giles, a prospect or two, and much of what remained of their organizational integrity

Wow. I’m stunned. I wonder what the return is but to trade him when his value is so low seems like a bad move. But I also didn’t want to see him wearing blue jays colours ever again.

I kind of like getting Giles. He's got his own issues but they don't involve beating up his girlfriend and mother of his child so I call that a win. Good numbers and has about the same amount of team control as Osuna. Call him up have him close games and peddle him in the offseason. Hope the rest of the deal is good.

Perez was their #10 prospect and Perez was their #23. All things considered I'm pretty good with this return.
