Is this something just cooked up by CREB to artificially inflate specific communities? We know the good areas are good because land values would reflect that, other areas need help being promoted.

Woodbine has Crispy Crust Pizza. Woodlands does not.

I lived in Arbour Lake for a few years and it's a very average neighbourhood at best. There's literally nothing unique about it at all. I can't imagine where they dream up these rankings.
The author must live there, it's the only explanation that I can come up with.

Getting a Boogie's Burgers should put Altadore in the top 10 at least. Maybe the number of cougar attacks pushes us down to #30.

I think the author/editor/publisher lives there as well. This isn't the first time it has been super high on the list (maybe even number 1 before?). It's exactly what I would do if I lived there and worked at that paper as it can't hurt property values, so why not?
I disagree that it is an "average" neighbourhood and I'm not sure if you were jokingly summoning me or something by saying there is "literally nothing unique about it", but I'll bite. Dude, there is a lake there. Maybe 2% of Calgary communities have a lake? Calgarians drive/fly for hours to spend a week a summer at a lake, yet lake community people can walk over to a lake after work. Arbour lake is a small lake, but if you like swimming/paddling/chilling out on a beach, it has what you need. You can't do that in Evanston, I know that much. And good luck doing that in Hillhurst. You could sit around the spittoon with a bunch of scuzzy bottle pickers, though.
I grew up in the Northwest and lived there until my mid-20s. I know the area and I can honestly say it's inferior to south Calgary; however, if I had to live in that quadrant Arbour Lake would be the only option.

Forest Lawn edges out Mahogany by 1 spot. The plus side of Forest Lawn is that you can walk to a bank. The bad part is its probably gonna be a robbery scene.

Don't forget all the porn/pawn/cash advance/liquor store plazas. That's a bonus, isn't it?

It definitely helps with the walkability score.

Who needs walkability when there are a bunch of high interest used car lots? Everyone's approved!

Since the order is pretty much made up, I say that any community who's name is a tryhard rip-off of some other well-known place deserves to be knocked back by at least 50 places. I'm looking at you especially, Tuscany and Hamptons.

Meet me in front of Midtown in 1 hour. Bring your weapon of choice. Likely a tie dye flag smelling like patchouli tied to a sunflower.
