Favourite player of all time, greatest Flame of all time, there will never be another Iggy.
Really hope he stays with the organization in some capacity.

That 2004 cup run was the most unreal sports journey I've ever been on as a fan, and i wasn't even in calgary, was enjoying it from Toronto, where i had just moved in the middle of the run after finishing uni out east.
Watching highlights of the run are hard for me, as i was so disappointed they didn't win the cup, but when i do watch, i get pure goosebumps.
Iggy was an absolute beast. I hope they get another cup run in, in my lifetime. Ideally, when i'm young enough to still enjoy it.

Him and Sakic were my 2 hockey hero's growing up and to watch them win a Gold for Canada in 2002 is something I will never forget. Iginla was an absolute beast in that Gold Medal game no one could stop him. How fitting is it that he was the last active player from that team.

01-04, he was the best player in the world. If you merged their timelines, I'd take Iggy over McHype a hundred out of a hundred times to captain my team. Just brought so much more and in just about every department. I'll gladly take the guy that beats down the other team's toughest guy, crunches bodies, mouths off the opposing bench then goes and scores the most important goal of the game..and then steps off the ice and speaks like a humble and honest gentleman to the media. What he was able to do on the whole was so much more impressive than what any of the big star players are doing today.

Is everyone sure he doesn't have ONE year left in him?
Very disappointed he didn't end his career on the ice with the Flames.
I'd take Jarome right now over Troy Brouwer as the 4RW. I think with his dedication the past year to extend his career he could bring just as much if not more.

If iggy gets his numbers in the rafters before Theo Fleury does... wonder how he'd feel.. haha.
There is no comparison between the two besides counting stats. Iggy was the quintessential flame in personality and team contribution. Fluery was a great goal scorer and a Scrappy player. While I think that both should have jerseys retired, it sucks that Fluery's hasn't been, but it would be a f***** travesty if Iginla's wasn't.
