We should get the Realtors in here to have a look at that place.

I kind of think thats its cheap like borscht because the place must be falling apart.

It needs $350,000 to $700,000 of renovations. Which seems cheap for something that big. But that's probably just required renos. If you want to update anything you're looking at a lot more.

Edwards would expect Calgary taxpayers to pay for it.

It'd have to be Scottish taxpayers and if he thinks Calgarians are cheap he is in for a world of surprise.

The Scottish invented 'cheap.'

The fact that it's in a relatively remote location, on an island with very few people, probably also has something to do with it.

Someone should start a Gofundme to raise enough money to buy this and donate it as something worthy for the city.

Not sure what that could be, but maybe Tourism Calgary could use it as a beachhead (pun intended) for tourism from Europe. We'd be the only Canadian prairie city on the ocean. Using it as part of a PR campaign would result in a huge bang for the buck.

Westjet could use it as YYC to YYC flights and give some families a vacation there kind of like the Make-a-Wish Foundation...

Calgary could bid on both the winter and summer Olympics...

Plus, just think how much easier it would be for Calgary companies to get oil out to the ocean for export.
