Nice contract especially if he improves incrementally as he could be a real bargain in the 2nd year.

Decent sized raise for a player who showed good progression as the season went along.

Nice deal.

Damn is sureLoss ever quick. I received a notification my phone about the signing and came here right away to see the reaction. Of course a thread was already started 15 minutes ago.

pretty fair contract. Could be a bargain in year 2 if Janko progresses as well as hoped.

Flames now have around 7m left for Hanifin, Hathaway, Rittich and Kulak. After accounting for those with arbitration rights, I guess there'll be around 4.5m available for Hanifin ... so it's either going to be a bridge deal or they'll have to make room via trade or buyout if they want to go long-term.

Kid gets paid, and Flames get a bridge. Win win.

Very similar to Backlund's progression.

I'm curious how Mark's summer has gone from a training perspective. Hoping to be blown away with his improvement.

Fair deal.

I may be reading CapFriendly wrong, but there's 5.58m in cap space right now. I suppose it matters which of the backups is on the team. With Gillies at 0.75, I assume Rittich will get something similar, likely slightly more.

Because all of these RFA deals so far have settled more or less as expected, I assume they fully anticipated this cap crunch. And I assume they have their 'get out of jail' planned - however I'm getting a little nervous what that plan actually entails.

yeah, but they have Alan Quine on there. I also took Gillies out. So without them, it's 7.038m available with 19 signed.

Fair deal.
I probably wouldn't be expecting much. He has been a lanky kid since being drafted, and there has been constant focus to put on muscle since then. I hope it's another positive incremental step, but if he hasn't blown us away in any particular summer since his 2012 draft year, I am skeptical that the 2018 summer won't be the one where he finally blows the top off.

Nice. Good $ for a kid showing strong potential and finishing ability. 17 goals is nothing to sneeze at.

I'm a little shocked he took less than Sam Bennett.
