If we traded for Hoffman, Neal would likely not be a Flame. Maybe that is better but we got Neal with just cap space and no drama

Neal was free, I'd me more concerned on what we gave up in a trade to acquire Hoffman than the drama.

Plus Neal was acquired without any assets going the other way. Either an asset equal value to Boedker or the draft picks, which included a 2nd rounder.

Seeing the return...you'd be concerned if we had dealt Troy Brouwer and say...Hunter Shinkaruk for Mike Hoffman?
I'd still make that trade today with Neal in the fold.

I might have considered Frolik + Shinkaruk + 4th for Hoffman and still signed Neal
Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Neal
Bennett - Jankowski - Hoffman

Essentially, a third party has investigated the troll comments in question and nothing ties them to her IP.
Not sure what to believe, but how bad does this look on the Karlson’s if it is proven that they had no evidence behind their accusations?

It would be totally Ottawa for them to have traded Hoffman for peanuts when he looked like the bad party, just to have the situation turn on Karlsson just before they have to trade him.

Good, this means I can enjoy having Hoffman on the Panthers guilt free.
Still sucks for the Karlssons. No justice for them and they will end up looking bad from this process that forced a player out of town.

Well, it's not accurate to say that the third party found nothing that ties the comments to 'her IP'. What the article does say is that the owner of one website doesn't think the posts on his one website were tied to any IP he would have known Caryk to use. But that's easy enough to do with a simple VPN or proxy service. Like one would have used to get American Netflix instead of Canadian.
Though, yes. The Karlssons will need to show evidence at some point.

Use of a VPN or proxy would have been evident through the web logs from the site the device connected to. Also would have been evident on the devices Cary’s used. The investigator would have caught all of that.
