The ref didn’t call it from Live play.

But that is where video review can be frustrating- ref discretion goes out the window- they have to call that a penalty with VAR. The hand was away from the body and moved into he path of the ball.

Unlucky, a bit harsh, but those are the rules.

Even if the hand wasn't moving it cant be there. Arms and hands cannot block space. You cant make yourself bigger.

Debate the penalty that's fine. But there's no debate France is lucky to be ahead. Croatia has carried the play and had the chances. This is how an underdog would cobble together a ####ty lead. But to see France get this luck after Croatia dominate? Hard to swallow.

This is so clearly fixed. I turned off the tv as soon as that cheat awarded the penalty. He made it look as if he was deliberating but his mind was made up as soon as he headed over to VAR.

He was stupid to make it look like he was deliberating and stupid to watch it in slow motion because only OBVIOUS infringements are meant to overturn the on field call.
