Ok, right now snap question. What song is stuck in your head, either right now of in the last lets say 24 hours that you couldn't get out, or it went quiet and just as you were saying "Phew" those opening bars started playing in your skull.
Here's mine, mainly probably because of the opening, I hadn't thought of this song in forever, then I heard it in Atomic Blonde a few months ago, and it pops up once in a while.

my band is playing a gig later this week and i had to learn born to run by springsteen - such an awesome tune... don't mind having it stuck in my head at all!

Please note I am in no way a country fan and I didn't go to Stampede. I have no idea how it got in there. It's still in there actually since last week.

I'm a big Springsteen band. When I was younger me and a bunch of friends used to get together in his basement and jam, just for fun.
We'd play Paranoid because the base line was fun, easy and you could really act out doing it. We'd play a lot of just fun songs, like The Hooters "And they danced". We tried some Springsteen, but it always kind of alluded us, I mean we could play the music and do a good job, and Springsteen was fun to play, but the guy that volunteered to do the singing, just couldn't get the tortured emotion that Springsteen so easily does in everything, even his "Fun songs" like growing up, dancing in the dark, Cadillac Ranch and working on the highway.
In fact the only song of the Bosses that he could sing was "Hungry Heart" which we had our girlfriends at the time singing the opening lines
"I had a wife and kids in Baltimore Jack
I went out for a ride and I never went back
Like a River that don't know where its flowing
I took a wrong turn and I just kept going
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Lay down your money and you play your part
Everybody's got a hung hung hungry heart"
Then you'd start playing.
I love that song live, and I've seen a lot of bar bands play it and just do it really well.
