Pfff, they're not trading Seguin to Ottawa. Nill's not that crazy. And I wouldn't make any trade without a deal already worked out.

The Stars should be the last team that should be going after a guy like Karlsson. They already have the next best thing in terms of playing style and potential with Klingberg. Karlsson isn't the answer. If the Stars trade Heiskanen, the Sens completely robbed the Stars.
I think to get the Karlsson deal done without taking on Ryan, you're going to have to include one really high-end piece. I am not saying Seguin, but their best prospect / young player.

shhh
I want the sens to completely rob the Stars (or whichever western team is dumb enough to do the trade)
Surprised Tampa isn't trying to put Hedman & Karlsson together.
Who says Tampa hasn't kicked the tires? Dallas is a weird team - neither here nor there. Some great players up front, but not much else. If I'm going after Karlsson, I'm going after him because I'm adding that last piece. Dallas has quite a ways to go, so I don't think he's a fit right now. I do think there will be a decent deal for Ottawa as they can't possibly screw this one up, but I do think they'll go for quantity (1 high end prospect, project prospect, 1st, 2nd) as opposed to pushing for max quality (2 high end prospects, 1st, 2nd). I don't know Dallas prospects to guess at any names.
Treliving: Hey Erik, want to stick it to Ottawa? If I can get you in a trade sign with me for $8million aav for only 3 years with only a no trade to Ottawa (Edmonton is a given).
Also Tre: Hey Pierre, thanks for letting me talk to Erik. So, you want to stick it to Karlsson? Trade him to me and I won't give him as much as he's asking. Also take this package because he really wants to play with Brouwer for some weird reason...
<insert package including Brouwer here>

Talks on going between Dallas and Senators ... Senators focusing on Miro Heiskanen third overall to Dallas last year, one source suggested. Dallas would rather give up Julius Honka, 14th overall in 2014. Played 42 games with Stars last season. Stay tuned.
Well, now that that's leaked, Dorion can't agree to a deal with Honka instead of he looks like the loser.

Flames to me could offer better than that... not saying we are in it at all but we could. Hieskanen is a blue chip D prospect but the fact that the stars are reportedly decreasing it to Honka?? Ottawa seems desperate and in a bad spot.
Bennett + Valimaki + Stone + 19 1st for Karlsson? That’s not a terrible offer at all.
Brouwer and Frolik would also have to eventually go to make room but wow... still though I just don’t see our cap structure allowing for a Karlsson and I am more than content to wait for Bennett, Valimaki and the 19 1st... but woooow that lineup could stack up points! Gio could be a 60 point D with Karlsson by his side.
Edit: forgot Hamonic (thanks Poe) somehow but this sends Andersson down for now until we are able to turn Brodie or Hamonic into futures or more help up front.
