Actually 42 games.
And this again means 7 players had more playoff goals than him in the last two playoffs combined. That's it.
Those 7: Guentzel, Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Crosby, Forsberg, Schiefele and Malkin.

I did, and won a lot of money betting they would not make the playoffs. Is it really that bad to criticize certain moves? Maybe I will turn out to be wrong about this, it's just hockey and a nobody's opinion.

Consistent 20 goal scoring winger, moderate cap hit, adds offensive depth to a team in desperate need of more scoring on the wings, in my estimation changes the dynamic of this club right away.
Gaudreau, Neal, Tkachuk, Lindholm as your top 6 wingers is great depth on the wings. Nice move and actually gives the Flames a legitimate top 6.

well, the alternatives were:
1) sign Maroon
2) sign Neal
3) do nothing
i think 2 was the best option, improved the top 6, at a reasonable AAV, esp when you add in the fact that Neal has no NMC in his contract.

But he's played more games than most players those 2 years. I'm not saying he is a bad player, just that I think he is overrated, don&t know why that is such an outrageous opinion to have.

It’s not outrageous, it’s just that the facts suggest otherwise.

I'm a huge fan of this deal. Term is shorter than I expected and cheaper. Good work BT

It's not your opinion that's outrageous, it's your distortion of the facts. To say that Neal has been ‘pretty poor in the playoffs’ is a distortion, as he has been one of the leading goal scorers in the last two playoff runs. To say that two Stanley Cup finalists have ‘let him go’ is a distortion, as Nashville was only able to protect four forwards and Las Vegas offered him a contract on almost the same terms he accepted from Calgary.
As a wise man has said, you're entitled to your own opinion; you are not entitled to your own facts.

As G. K. Chesterton put it:
‘What is bad in the candid friend is simply that he is not candid. He is keeping something back – his own gloomy pleasure in saying unpleasant things.… He is an uncandid candid friend: the man who says, “I am sorry to say we are ruined,” and is not sorry at all.’
Seems to me we have a few of those among the CP regulars.

Of course it's not wrong, and our opinions mean nothing in the end too, but a lot of us just simply disagree with your first statement.

Whenever another team has a good signing or trade, someone always has to wonder why the Flames weren't involved.
On the flip side, whenever Flames have make a good signing, someone always has to wonder why the original team didn't re-sign.

Vegas did purportedly offer 5x5 as per 960. So they tried, but he wanted the extra on the open market looks like.
Also he sounds like he genuinely thinks the flames have a shot in the next couple years with the pieces here. Didn't come across to me as the standard tire pumping by new players, he seems like an intelligent guy coming off three contending teams that sees those things in this group.

How did you win a “lot of money” on that bet? Did you find morons to bet with who screwed up and gave you silly odds? Betting against the Flames to make the playoffs shouldn’t have been that outrageous of a bet.

Oh I know, I was just making the point that no matter what the Flames do, someone will always question it and find a negative view of it.
