Probably not. If they don't back up the claim the price goes up after they pay out the signing bonuse, teams will know they are desperate.

You know Ottawa is going to want to recoup a 2019 1st round pick (and more of course).

Strong arm a team into making a deal. Have Mike talk to Mark and make him ask for a trade quietly. The panel touched on it today on TSN, does Stone really want to be a part of that team? He's good and young and probably doesn't want to be a part of that s(t)inking ship.
If they're not going to get Neal at this point, they need to get someone who can score.

Do we really need to make any more moves? I already think we did a fantastic job this offseason already. We signed two players, one for 3 years and the other for two. We didn't have to trade Sam Bennett or Jankowski to gain a 1st in the 2018 draft, and also picked up some really good players in the few picks that we had, giving us an A- in a report.
Back to adding to our top 6, I think we've done pretty good with Lindholm, Ryan and Czarnik.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Bennett - Jankowski - Czarnik
Lazar - Ryan - Brouwer
If we can add Maroon on a 2 year deal or Neal on a 3 year deal, shoot. This team is gonna be tough to handle.

Sorry but this does not look like a substantial improvement over last year’s team, barring an unforeseen development. They will be hard pressed to score enough to be a playoff threat without adding another top 6 player at minimum.
