No, McDavid's deal is 8 years, Tavares is 7.

Expectation is Babcock will pair Tavares with Marner and Matthews with Nylander. 1st or 2nd line distinction is irrelevant.

You’ll get to see them a lot...CBC/Snet will find a way for them to be on both half of the back to back Saturday games.

As much as seeing the Leafs land a player of JT's caliber pains me, I realize how awesome it must feel when it happens for your team. So I will save my vitriol for another day. Outside of Babcock, I think this may be Toronto's first huge free agent get, no?

That's a lot of $ to pass on to play for your hometown team... And be in the constant spotlight... And not in California...
Not sure I would have made the same choice.
