I'm never huge on picking up ex oilers but hes a big dude that can put up 40-50 points when paired up with skilled players.
I guess the idea is having two options for the 1RW and whichever of him and lindholm works best you go with.
Of course you want Neal but we know how fond tree is of getting into bidding wars.
If we can expect 40 points from him, Ryan and (maybe more) lindholm then we've net gained some offense up front this off-season. Didn't add more top end but there is certainly greater depth scoring now.
Maroon was an excellent pickup for the oilers and fit in well. I wanted the Flames to get him back then so I'll be happy if they do now. I actually think he'll do better on the top line here than he did with McDavid. More puck movement around the net rather than straight up speed down the ice fishing for desperate passes or rebounds.
Wouldn't be opposed to him if the term and money wasn't too much, sometimes on the ice he was a bit of a big DB, but he is not a Maroon, remember a couple of years ago he said he had worked out during the summer and dropped some weight, to try to help his speed, and with the ducks and oilers, he also used to play some top line minutes.
