Caps had Carlson..

Pens beat the Preds with Shultz leading the way on D.

Leafs have Rielly, Gardiner and Dermott on the left. Their left is very solid.

RHD is defintely weak but Carrick is decent. Zaitsev is a question mark. Looked good in his first year and was horrible in his second.

So if they can get a decent RHD, not a huge name, just a solid RHD they are fine.

Anyways, Tavares or no Tavares I really don't think the Leafs are trading Marner.

per Arthur Staple, while not official, it appears the Islanders are out of it.

He also says that the Tavares camp has rejected the idea of doing a 1+8 with the other remaining teams.
