Man they keep getting those types of signings. They did need a good role playing centerman but I envision a rough year for Vancouver .

We don’t need Lindholm at centre with Monahan, Backlund and Janko. We desperately need him on RW barring major changes
Seems like picking up a winger should be easier than a center which is a much more important position.

If Lindholm is a better center than Jankowski then maybe Jankowski should be playing the wing.

Wash will miss Beagle, I'm guessing Van will overpay to get him which is okay by me.
5x 4M please.

Bealge had a -10.8 CF% rel this season and just won a championship in Washington + Vancouver is a bad team. He's going to be massively overpaid.

More like 4x3

If dim Jim gives him 5 x 4 he’s got to be one of the worst in the league.

Seems like 2018 Jay Beagle is 2016 Troy Brouwer.

4yr, $4.5M per year. Do it Jim.

Cant forget 2014-15 "Killer" Matt Belesky who some wanted on the Flames after his series against us in the playoffs.

Thank god we managed to avoid that bomb - 3.8M for 2 more seasons

I think it would be a great idea during pre season 4 a couple of games and in the red n white games to play stone as Foward

I have been wondering about this myself. There is a lot of concern from critics of the trade that Ferland's goal-scroring is somehow irreplaceable. Well, Jankowski was fifth in goals behind Ferland in his rookie season, and he has a really good and accurate shot. I like him at centre, but if that top-line needs another shooter on it, he may be the solution. Either way, I think with Lindholm on the roster there is the potential to crate a bunch of different looks in the top six—several of which could be really successful.

I don't understand the obsession by some with turning established NHL defensemen into forwards and vice versa. The number of players for whom this has worked well can literally be counted on two hands. It's really not a great idea.

The only way that Ferland gets more goals than Lindholm this year is if two things happen:

1) Ferland plays with Aho and Teravainen, and

2) Lindholm doesn't play on Monahan's line.

However, if Lindholm isn't on Monahan's line, someone else will be. And they will replace Ferland's goals.

Edit: barring injuries of course

Who are they, out of curiosity? I can only think of Byfuglien, due to me not really following the league per-se..

Versteeg was originally a defenseman, albeit not "NHL-established".

Federov also played some defense.

I'd argue Reaves 2018 is a closer comparison.

To whom? Brouwer or Beagle? Because I don't see how either of those are close.
