This reminds me of the Greasers a few years ago where every other guy was named Ryan. Ryan Smyth, Ryan Whitney, Ryan Jones, Ryan O'Marra, Ryan Nugent Hopkins...

No GMs have done the oilers any favors so far. Hopefully they don't start now.
They've actually taken turns fleecing them.

Eklund says there are 2 GOOD offers.... lol. I would think an old Jofa helmet would get the deal done.

At least that was the rumor.

Will laugh and cry dramatically if it ends up being something around Lucic and Brouwer as a "change of scenery" type of deal . . .
I mean, Glenny did really like playing him!

I'd rather keep brouwer. Ugh Lucic is so bad.

Please don't let that be true. However I do believe NHL GMs are pretty stupid.
If they actually get a good piece like Skinner back for Lucic I will lose my mind.

If the deal also included Puljujarvi and Lazar then I would be okay with it but the 3 years longer Lucic has on his deal (compared to Brouwer) makes it impossible

You're going to be disappointed when they throw in Kassian - not Pool Party - and Tre explains it was either him or Ryan Reaves for that truculent 4th line!

If they wait until after the signing bonus, Lucic will have 22.5M left on his deal, 4.5M average over the next 5 years - with some lockout protection. Not good by any stretch, but not as prohibitive as a "regular" 6M cap hit contract would appear.
If a team is stupid enough to believe he'll reach back to 50 points, 4.5M is far less than the UFA rate (especially if the player brings in physicality or other desired assets). I pray he stays with the Oilers, but if a bad contract is involved I could see him moved.
It would be great though if they got a deal finalized only for Lucic' NTC to kill it, just for giggles.

But I won’t get my hopes up. I’ve been hurt too many times before.
