I'm actually for this signing if it happens.
Who is supposed to provide toughness on this roster? Hathaway? Flames need to add someone, and Reaves is one of the very best at that role.

Remember when he destroyed Brodie and Hamonic and the rest of the guys on the ice told him how mean that was?
That was awesome to see the Flames stick up for one of their teammates.

Yeah Reeves is good at what he does but what he does is 95% of the time useless.
I don't mind him but seems mostly a waste of a roster spot.

For once I'd like to see the Flames go all out and try and field a competitive lineup that's fast top to bottom. These role player types, while not bad in various situations aren't useful daily. Plus given he was in LV probably means more eyes on him which means a slightly inflated salary than he's worth. I'm just concerned about his foot speed more than anything.

Ferland engelland out. I think Hamonic is our toughest guy. Please no bolig or jackman though, or overpayment, sigh.
I'd honestly be ok with zero tough guys. Wilson was just embarrassing this playoffs.

I think his presence alone will make us less susceptible to nightly beatings we take and do nothing about it. So we roll three lines instead of four in the third. I’d think twice before being stupid and having to deal with reaves.

Haha. Relax everyone.
If the Flames sign Ryan Reaves and miss the playoffs, it won't be because they signed Ryan Reaves.
The St. Louis Blues had this guy on their roster for 6 straight seasons playing 60-80 games for about 8 minutes a game and never missed the playoffs once.
Then the Penguins traded for him who were two time SC champs and didn't spiral into the dumpster because of it, then traded him to Vegas who made it to the Cup finals.
This move cannot hurt. A little toughness to lean on is OK.
