I've been playing Hollow Knight since it came out. Excellent game, the most enjoyable of its sort I personally have played since Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

Got to spend a good 3 hours with Octopath, I'm excited for it to come out.

Really wish that there were some e3 deals like the past for Mario and Tennis and Octopath but I suppose I'll just have to swallow the full price retail costs.

Octo expansion is basically a colourful, bright, post apocalyptic Dark Souls. It's friggen hard.

You also forgot the Torna expansion pack for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, OOTC.

I tried to put everything about my brief time with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 out of my memory.

Anybody get Mario Tennis? Released yesterday. Overhyped or under hyped?

I got it. The gameplay is very solid and polished, there’s so much tactics and options in the matches, it’s not really like any other Mario sports game before. I think it’s still a bit light on content, but what’s there is excellent and it seems like they have plans to add more.

I would say it’s hyped at just the right amount.

For those who don't have Amazon Prime. Smash is on preorder for 10 dollars off at Amazon.

Wife picked up a switch. Was hoping they had Mario golf. Bitterly disappointed. Can't bring myself to spend $80 on tennis.

We just grabbed one with Mario Kart and Odyssey yesterday. First thought is I can't get over how small everything is. Even the screen unit seems so small that I am worried about dropping it when fumbling it into the base. And the Joy Cons are too small for using just half for long Mario Kart sessions. So I'm thinking more controllers are in my future. But all in all, a pretty cool setup and the kids seem happy. Looking forward to Smash, we still get a ton of use out of our Wii U playing Smash as a family.

I don't like the Joy Cons one iota. They'd be okay if you're on a bus/train and using this as a portable, but the pro controller is so much better if it's an option. In fact the Switch pro controller might be my favourite console controller, it just has a real solid feel to it.

I actually like the joycons. I got spoiled in the Wii era being able to play with my hands at my sides, or whatever is comfortable. So much better than having your hands forced to one position.

The joycons are alright in limited cases. But the pro controller is a must for any game that uses L/R/ZL/ZR frequently, imnsho.

I don't mind the joycons in the holder. Split, horizontal joycons (for playing 4 player Mario Kart, for example) isn't comfortable. But very rarely do we play 4 players, and it is usually kids, so it gets the job done.

I haven't yet felt a pro controller in my hands, but I have a feeling that I'd like it a lot. So maybe avoidance is my strategy to save $90.

I just got a Pro controller myself, as I was waiting to get some in-store credit to help bring down the sting of a $90 controller. Up until this point I had always used the joy-cons in the holder, and gotten pretty used to it. The Pro controller definitely feels more satisfying to use, and I used some very difficult platforming in Celeste to test it out. The battery life is also way better than the joy cons, but the rumble feels a little meh in comparison.

The Pro controller is fantastic. I was using the joycons in the holder for a while, but once I tried out the Pro controller just didn't go back.

Mario Tennis is awesome. Played the demo that entire free weekend but I'm cheap and I'm waiting for Shoppers to get some in stock so that I can get 30% off (just like the rest of the switch stuff!).

Mario Tennis Aces has a solid mechanical foundation. It's just fun at the end of the day (until you start getting deeper into playing competitively and realizing there are some balancing issues).

Other than that the main stuff holding it back is everything else around doesn't really feel fleshed out or polished. Single player is neat sometimes, missing options, etc

I'm having fun with it but can't help but to wonder who dropped the ball on some of these things.

I must be weird, I use the joycons exclusively and my pro controller has maybe 10 mins of play on it.

I'm the same, but I also prefer handheld (I've played probably 95% handheld)

I haven't unpacked the dock or charged the pro controller. I also have only every played in bed.
