Yup, a retro home/away would make me cry tears of joy.

The retro whites are underrated, especially with the red pants.

I think majority would be with you. I want to see this soooooooo bad.

But I lack faith the Flames will ever do this now. I have more confidence in them continuing with ugly, misplaced designs, than take the easy and obvious route.

Flyers (Stadium series from a couple years back), Coyotes (original home jersey from 96) and Carolina (remake of the hurricane flag warning jersey) all released thirds this weekend, and they are all black.

If trading Dougie gets us a player conference for Hanifin and Lindholm in new retro jerseys, then I'm absolutely on board with the trade.

It's funny how apathetic Flames faithful seem to be with this upcoming jersey. Normally this is a huge announcement, and I was expecting this thread to explode. I think we're all expecting a jersey we've seen before... and have been voting with our dollars we want, or the result will be underwhelming again.

Really hoping they knock this one out, because the Calgary Flames are a team that has potential to create an incredible jersey. They have a great logo, fun palette, and a little bit of history to pull from. The recipe for a great aesthetic is all there. In the spirit of the new jersey, I just wanted to share an update to things we've all seen before.

First, something I think very few on here will be disappointed with, some throwbacks! Whenever I see the home jersey on a modern cut I melt. I'm very tempted to round the yokes, but the squared off yokes seem to work with this design fairly well.

If not the throwbacks, I'd love to see the Flames come up with something new using the white/red/yellow palette. This is an update to a design I did back in 2013 and I'm still really into it. Adding a good amount of white really makes this aesthetic feel 'hot' and the contrast broken by the yellow just has a very classic feel to it I really like. I've played around with this for a while, and I keep coming back to those white arms.

I would say if anything the waist stripes on both are maybe just a little too big. I also don't necessarily like the prevalence of yellow on the second concept. But they're great!

3rd Jersey is coming out this year.

Arizona and Carolina unveiled theirs during the draft, so ours should be unveiled soon (...maybe we're waiting to introduce a free agent our two at a presser with the new 3rd jersey?)
