The only way this trade makes sense is if they take Brouwer's contract as well.

This is a terrible deal.

Something off with Dougie. Sold high on Ferland, Fox probably indicated he wasn’t going to sign.

We got a 23 year old right shot C/W and a 21 year old top 4 D with plenty of upside.
Bang on, IMO

This deal should have been

Hamilton and Ferland for Hanifin and Lindholm

That's it.

Why the #### is Fox in there too????

If the Flames weren’t confidence Fox would sign, it’s an easy value add to close the deal. Hamilton the best player in the deal, so it immediately makes you nervous, but Hanifin and Lindholm still have high ceilings, much much higher than Ferland at this point.

Again, cautiously optimistic. Let’s see how this shakes out in training camp, but I feel like we added up front without loosing too much on the backend.

I like the two guys coming in. So I'm going to focus on that while I digest the rest.

Absolutely. I'd be stunned now if he doesn't bring in a decent forward on or after July 1st. Neal is a good candidate.

Was never crazy about Dougie Hamilton. But not a fan of this trade. We’ve traded all of our chips for Elias Lindholm who doesn’t appear to be a legit 1st liner and Noah Hanifin is who isn’t a guaranteed to be a #1 defenseman.

Ferland is a 4th liner with a good shot. So losing him isn't the biggest deal in the world.

Hamilton and Hanifin are basically equivalent talent wise. The difference is that Hanifin is both younger and better defensively (not as good offensively).

By the time you realize you need a new GM, it’s too late.

A team with no picks trades one of its best prospects. Moderate downgrade on defense, upgrade on the wing.

Obviously the fear people have about drafting college players is legit. Fox was given away here.

Nice haul for the Canes, judging by the trade it seems like Hanifin is worth more than Hamilton.

Deal to make a deal. Why fox is involved is beyond me. Treliving better have things right this year, i just don't trust his judgement at all anymore
