I only have a chance to watch PSG during Champions League; it must be a lot of fun seeing Cavani on a regular basis. He's a workhorse. It's a shame he couldn't pot one today.

So it'll be Uruguay vs Russia in the round of 16? That will make their match on the 25th lots of fun to watch.

Just to reiterate how important set pieces are, 43% of all goals this tournament have come from set pieces, When you add penalties, more than 61% of all goals are not from open play. I definitely think this is the biggest difference from club football, lot more goals from deadball situations.

No. Teams from the same group can't meet again until the final.

My reading of the bracket was pretty confused then. I'll have to look for a better explanation.

Iran playing a 4-4-2, but really dropping into a good ol' fashioned 6-3-1.

I have no problem with this when it's games like Iran vs Spain...Iran really has to just try to defend and hope for a mistake on the counter.
Parking the bus is only bad when it's Man United vs. Chelsea and the teams are evenly matched.

I don't know if there is a preferred opponent between Portugal and Spain. I would likely prefer Portugal, so maybe the Russians take a dive and Putin tries to strong arm the Portuguese.

Ref should be giving a final warning out for simulation. "Next one's a yellow". Embarrassing.

Perfect execution by Iran. 10 behind the ball at all times and counter attack when there's an opportunity.

I think Spain needs to either look to the air (you can't intercept a ball that's 4 feet over your head) or go straight up the middle then tap it back.

Iran has done well. It's not pretty, but Spain have no solutions so far and it's on them to find a way.
Absolutely hate Irans antics and timewasting though. Despicable.

How hard do you think Mourinho gets watching matches like these?

For the sake of the tournament I want a Spain win.
Do not want to see Iran going into the final game looking for a draw.
