Could you provide that article? I really hope he can, Paulinho was just so awful and Brazil need someone in the midfield that can carry the ball with Coutinho. The balance in yesterday’s game was just so off and so poor.

Tite already came out and said Brasil was feeling the pressure. How can you expect to win a World Cup when you are already playing scared vs Switzerland? Pathetic performance

People don't watch the Italian league much but Mertens has been an absolute stud for Napoli these last two seasons - the trio of Insigne, Callejon, and him has been great. He really took off when moved into more of an attacking role with those other two.

Getting a little chippy out there, and we don't even have Captain Elbow in yet.

Lovely, just lovely. Wonderful possession by Belgium and an equally wonderful finish.

Yeah it was probably offside, but the quality of that pass means you have to rule it onside.

This tournament has had a lot of great goals already.

Nacho
Ronaldo's 3rd
Mertens
Coutinho
Kolarov
Aguero
Golovin

Just a bunch of world class finishes

Edit: Could add the Lukaku goal to that but more because of the pass from KDB.

What was that Panamanian defender doing there? Nothing. Thats what. He just casually watched Lukaku pound the ball into the net.

He wasnt goal-side, he wasnt ball-side, he was just standing around.

He may have to holster his guns for this one. Elbows not required now.

Lukaku is simply elite for Belgium. Still cannot believe the odds he got for Golden Boot, stupid value right there.

I just don't get how teams like Panama spend their entire history making the world cup and just park the bus when they get there. They played a 5-5 formation. That striker up front was just a suggestion.

I hope Panama comes out the next game flying around. Show the world what you've got.

Croatia forward Nikola Kalinic has been sent home from the World Cup after he refused to come on as a substitute during the 2-0 defeat of Nigeria.

The 30-year-old cannot be replaced, meaning Croatia will have to make do with only 22 players for the rest of the tournament.

AC Milan's Kalinic said he had a back injury, having complained of the same problem in the friendly loss to Brazil.

Coach Zlatko Dalic said: "I need my players fit and ready to play."

Kalinic, who played for Blackburn Rovers between 2009 and 2011 and has scored 15 goals in 41 appearances for Croatia, was starting his fourth international in a row on the bench.

"During the Nigeria encounter, Kalinic was warming up and was supposed to come on in the second half," said Dalic.

"However, he then stated that he wasn't ready to come on due to a back issue.

"The same thing happened during the Brazil friendly in England, as well as before the practice session on Sunday.

"I have calmly accepted that and since I need my players fit and ready to play, I have made this decision."

Seems like the right decision. Able to warm up. Take his place on the bench then repeatedly last minute declare himself unfit. Serving no purpose but a distraction.

Lets go Tunisia!

I like how this is the only team I'd do this for. But yeah let's get to the criticism!
