Default OILFAN #81's Calgarypuck Appreciation Thread

Well I don't even know what to say. I'm absolutely touched with all the messages i've recieved these past few days. From posters who I talk to on a regular basis to posters who i've never talked to before, the messages keep pouring in. I'd like to say I appreciate all of you so much. Sometimes people get lost in the fact that this is only a hockey forum, but really it's more then that. You all showed that with your touching messages this week. It's truly amazing all the wishes that I have recieved from all of you. My PM box is 94% full and I got a warning e-mail from CP saying it's almost full (I guess that shows how many people on this board have great hearts and really care.) I wish I could individually thank every one of you who sent me a message but i'd be here for a long time to do that and the messages are all over this forum so I just made this thread instead. So i'd like to say thank you very much to every single poster who sent me a message. Calgarypuck has great posters and people! I'm a diehard Oilerfan yet I post on this board. I don't think it's a coincidence. I mean, I can't stand the Flames but I come here for the great topics and the posters. If all the fans from Calgary(and wherever else who are Flames fans) are like you guys, then you got a really classy bunch. I'm actually moving to Calgary in May (but don't you worry i'll always bleed copper and blue baby!) Thank you so much for the wishes!

PS.......a special thank you to Kris(and whoever else was involved) for setting up that donation account for MADD in Chanty's honor. That was truly touching. I was overwhelmed when I saw that. Things like that will never be forgotten. Thank you.

EDIT: Appreciation thread bc (My gf passed away due to a drunk driver and i've recieved so many messages)

I just did a search to find out what was going on. I haven't been lurking on the forum as much as normal so I have been out of touch. (Damn work.) Oilfan, you have my sincere condolences. It boggles the mind to think this still happens. There is absolutely no excuse.

Just found out about this.

There is nothing that I can say that would fix the grief that you are going through right now, but our condolences nevertheless.

Keep your chin up, and do the best that you can. People will understand.

Sorry for your loss. Obviously sports will always be a very minor detail in life when it comes down to things that matter. My condolences.

I hadn't heard about this either. If your inbox is getting full, I guess I'd better just post my thoughts here. You have my sincere sympathy, OilFan. It shouldn't take an event like this to remind us that professional sports is the merest of trifles when it comes to real life events like this one.

It's deplorable that after all the information campaigns, people STILL drink and drive. I'll be thinking of you in the next while, and I hope that you can find some peace and that you and your girlfriend's family get the justice that you deserve. I'm so sorry.

Thanks everyone for being here for my brother during such a difficult time. I wish I could be there for him in person...I'm glad my parents are there as well as all of his close friends. I will be seeing him soon though.

I agree with what Neil said..."I can't stand the Flames but I come here for the great topics and the posters. If all the fans from Calgary(and wherever else who are Flames fans) are like you guys, then you got a really classy bunch"

So thanks everyone for being so sweet. Much appreciated.

Rina

Sorry to hear this Oilfan. You are a great contributer to CP.

I did notice your absence in the past few game threads. Hope you are doing well.
