Yeah, I was hoping for Calgary or Vancouver myself. This is going to be the last such tie as well if they do indeed go ahead with the proposed changes for the Davis Cup format.

Bad loss by Vasek this morning in the Netherlands as he lost to Alex Bolt (qualifier from Australia). He took the opening set 6-4, but lost the second set in a tie-breaker and then the third set 6-2.

Better news at the ATP Challenger event in Lyon as Felix moves on in straight sets over Corentin Moutet of France 6-2 6-2
Edit: As defending champion, Felix obviously has some ranking points at stake.

And then you say the H2H argument is weak..?? It definitely is not gonna give Rafa the edge now but if he catches Roger's 20, you and I both know that stat will tip the scale in Rafa's favor.
Roger has 11 slams on hard courts, so take those away and you're left with what.. 9 slams with only 1 on clay, there is definitely no variety in that statistic. Further to that, 2 of the 4 grand slams a year are being held on hard courts. What would Roger fans be saying if there were 2 clay grand slams per year?
The GOAT debate is without a doubt between Roger and Rafa, and at the moment Roger is the GOAT, but if Rafa were to catch him and surpass him regardless of where he does that, Rafa will be just as deserving as the title as Roger.

To the first part of the bolded, now you've changed it so you take away 50% of all majors instead of just 25%. So let's do that and take away Roger's top 2 which puts him at 6 total. Nadal is now down to 3. As to "what if there was another clay major"? Well let's not kid ourselves, the sport would be in huge trouble if the already boring clay season were extended. No one likes clay except Rafa fans, slow, plodding, boring matches with usually far more errors than winners. Fans like excitement and action. Clay is not that.
And it's worth remembering that Rafa's injuries aren't flukes, they are driven by his grueling style of play and yes, playing too much on clay. We all know clay is the most physically demanding surface. Roger never got hurt despite playing an extensive clay career until 2016, because he plays smarter and faster. Nadal shouldn't be given a free excuse because he brutalized his own body.

Shapo lost today, guess I will have to wait for Wimbledon to watch him play Fed on grass. Changing from clay to grass is so difficult, it's just another learning lesson for the young Canadian.

Milos advanced in Stuttgart and will play Marton Fucsovics next on Thursday.
Edit: The missile was working today.

Nadal has withdrawn from the Queens tournament which was supposed to start on Monday. No surprise, and I think he's 50/50 about playing Wimbledon this year. He should just stay home rest, recover and go hard for a 4th US Open title or even a first year end ATP championship. As much as I would love him to win Wimbledon again I just don't see it happening.

I don't think I've read anything that indicates Rafa is considering skipping Wimby. you got a source? there's quite a large amount of time between the end of grass and the bigger USO warmups in Toronto and Cincy, and he's never complained about grass being hard on his joints.

I know in the past he said the grass is hard on his knees because of the low bounce. I have no source or anything just thinking out loud, he will probably play Wimbledon win a few rounds but I don't see him as a serious contender, I hope Im wrong. Fed is the clear #1 favorite to win Wimbledon.

Felix is up a set and on serve in set 2 when his match was suspended - To be resumed on Thursday.
Edit: Felix rallied from 5-2 down in set 2 and won five straight games including three today to take the match.

Looking as though Milos should be taking the court again in Stuttgart momentarily.
Hopefully he is locked in again today as I'm really looking forward to a potential hard hitting Raonic/Berdych showdown on grass tomorrow.

Watching on the Tennis TV stream, Milos with an early break and looking good all in black.

Fucsovics looks completely outclassed with no answer to the aggressive serve and volleying Milos is putting down. I expect this to be over in short order unless something drastic happens.
Good to see the big man going back to the well as far as forcing the net as much as possible.

Yup, Milos put the hammer down in that set taking it 6-2. Fucsovics has that look of a deer in the headlights.

Milos breaks Fucsovics once again in set 2 to take a 3-2 lead. The way he is serving today he should be able to wrap this up without too much trouble.
edit: Milos just hit a 228 km/hr second serve lol

So happy to see Milos back and playing well! Because of the wacky ranking system for Wimbledon he will be seeded around 13th which is much better than his 33rd ranking. I think we could see a deep run from him this year.
Fed will be ranked #1, Nadal #2, Djoker is right now 14th and Murray is 18th. I don't understand why Wimbledon thinks its special and doesn't just use the ATP rankings like every other tournament in the world lol.

I feel a finals appearance coming for whoever comes out on top between him and Berdych tomorrow. With no points to defend in London next week either, Milos could have a much needed mid-low 20's ranking going into Wimbledon.
