Keep your eye on SS Kevin Smith Jays fans:

Article

Quote:
I took it as standard player jargon; of course he’ll work to get better, and he certainly has the ability to improve, but a change in the on-field product might not happen.

I was totally wrong.

Whether he stuck to his offseason plan or not, Smith, in 2018, has already turned his fair share of heads. Before a promotion from the Lansing Lugnuts to the Dunedin Blue Jays, Smith was hitting .355 with a .407 OBP in 46 games. He had 12 stolen bases and 23 doubles.
Quote:
Currently, he’s hitting .160 in six games in Dunedin. But next time he says he’s making adjustments, I’ll believe him.
Had a slow start in Dunedin, but since this article has gone 9 for 14 in 3 games and raised his High A slash line to .333 / .413 / .436 / .849 9 games.

Shi Davidi @ShiDavidi
#BlueJays say Vladimir Guerrero Jr., will miss four weeks with a patella tendon strain in his left knee. He'll be re-evaluated then for next steps.

Sigh.

Why can't we have nice things?

Go from discussion on when our consensus #1 prospect in all of baseball is going to finally get called up, to wondering if he'll even play another game this year.

I hate to say it, but he's an overweight dude, and now his knee is giving him troubles. #### I am getting sick of sports. It's always something. Was bad enough when our best pitching prospect got hurt immediately after coming back from his first injury this season.

Estrada in the midst of giving the Jays there 7th or 8th straight quality start?

He's retired 10 straight and has 8 K's through 5 innings.

Nice of the rotation to wait until the Jays were into the double digits behind the 2nd wild card before actually waking up and pitching well. Buttheads.

Well that was a fun 4 game sweep of the garbage OriLOLes.

Now the fun probably ends as the Jays head to Tampa now to play in that abortion of a stadium.

Sean Reid-Foley with 7 IP, 1ER, 3 hits, 9 K's and 0 walks

Keep it coming SRF, keep it coming.

Also with the Bisons, Gurriel 2 for 3 with 4 RBI and Jansen 1 for 3 with a HR

Bo Bichette 3 for 4 with a walk and 3 stolen bases in New Hampshire

Encouraging start from Sean Reid Foley!

Kevin Smith 2 for 4 with a HR as well with the Dunedin Blue Jays.

Lots of interesting and exciting infielders in the minors at basically every level.

Anthony Alford 3 for 5 today in Buffalo.

He's batting .357 in his last 10 AAA games. Keep it up AA.

Also, Reese McGuire batting .321 in his last 10 games, and Gurriel is batting .341 in his last 10 games.

6th rounder SS Addison Barger has reportedly agreed to sign with the Jays. Lots of really decent MIF prospects in this organization.

Also, 24th round pick P Mike Pascoe has also supposedly signed for $100k

@jimcallisMLB
1st-rder Jordan Groshans signs w/@BlueJays for $3.4 million (pick 12 value = $4,200,900). Texas HS SS, some of best power in @MLBDraft, promising hitter too, likely moves to 3B & can be good defender there. Kansas recruit.

18 people are talking about this
So between the two the Jays are about a million over slot.
