Yeah they've had this at the Tailsman Center for years. I use to go do it once a week. I've never seen as many kids puke in my life, as i did when waiting to use that treadmill.
Pretty nifty thing they've got going at Cornell there. Maybe our own CalgAri can sneak in and give it a whirl.
lol it was invented in Calgary. Or thats what they claimed anyway when i was a young lad using it. They said Calgary was the first place to have it, that was back in the day at Lindsay Park.
Ive also used it at NSD and when i played junior at Notre Dame. There absolutly unreal. The best thing for your stride and pure power from your legs. Gotta be one of the toughest work outs known to man, seeing how every location ive ever done it at, always has a huge puke bucket placed next to the treadmil.
Absolutly unreal machine though, can do wonders for your speed game. I would definitly recomend it to anyone who is currently playing competive hockey and wants to make a future out of it for sure!

I've seen something similar at the Talisman, but that was for rollerblades, and not ice skates. I don't know if they have another machine strictly for ice skates at the talisman, but I haven't seen it.
I'd love to get one of these puppies in my basement.

I train regularly at Talisman, and yes they do have one for ice skates. It's in the NE corner of the building, beside the National athlete training section. Pretty cool machine actually, they strap guys into a harness in case they fall off it.
Seems like a pretty good idea, I've also heard of similar inventions for swimming and surfing.
Yeah the first thing like that for surfing/boogie boarding was invented in California and implemented in New Braunfels, Tx at Schliterbahn. I also seem to remember Modano had one of the swiming ones put in his Dallas house.
ya they have had one for 6 years at the talisman center.
Heh, I was on it when I was 15, so it's been there since at least 12 years ago. Als owas using it when I was 20 at FDB, so that was 7 years ago. I remember a few of us were doing the program on it and this older guy (17 - 19) was on it for the first time and stumbled a bunch.. We were laughing at him, turned out to be Nolan Baumgartner (sp?). Who at the time was looking to be a pretty darn good player.. hehe.
It's really good for your skating! Also good at eating people, I left their countless times with total hypoglycemia, pale face, woozy stomach.. It was torture!
I did it for about a year at Lindsey park a long time ago. I was already a pretty good skater, but it still vastly improved me. The one at NSD looks a bit newer and nicer though.
