Nobody agree with it. But categorising people who commit suicide as weak quitters is a very stupid opinion.

You’ve every right to share that opinion, but don’t act indignant when people call it for what it is.

So much talent. Always loved his shows, all the way back to "No Reservations", simple, honest, no bull#### kinda guy.
He will be missed, and may God have mercy on his soul.

I was just watching his episode on Croatia last night and was thinking man what a life he's got. Loved his work. So sad to hear.

Thanks for everything Anthony Bourdain. you will be missed.

Wow.

That is really terrible. The man was an inspiration. I loved the way he traveled, saw everything in his own unique way and I loved the fact that the guy was, at times, an unapologetic ass.

Its just something about how his snarkiness came across in his show and in his writing, I love it.

I think what hits the hardest is that in watching his show and reading his books all we get to see is his highlight reel as opposed to whatever may have been behind the scenes but to all outward appearances the man loved life, so this is hard news.

Whatever battle he was fighting, its over now. RIP Tony. You will be greatly missed.

Sad to see him go. I hate travel shows, they usually consist of a couple of twenty year olds doing bungee jumping or at the opposite end Rick Steves boring you to death during a well rehearsed episode in Italy. Bourdain's act appealed to the 40 something traveler that appreciated good food, cultural immersion, and some adventure(motorcycle ride,etc...), but nothing crazy.

I had no idea he had an 11 year old daughter, certainly his life was not normal for a family man, and that would have been tough for him to not see her on a regular basis. I have no idea what his motives were but they put in to question his recent interview with the CBC when he said: "I have a great life". Perhaps something happened to change that, perhaps a medical diagnosis of some kind, or maybe it was not a suicide.

I act a certain way when people push opinion as fact, like you just did there. ITs your opinion that my opinion was “very stupid”

Thanks for the input, I respect your opinion

Still think mr Bourdain quit, whatever the reason

I've always liked you as a poster, but just look at this thread. A third of the posts are about a guy who just died, and two-thirds are either by or about you. It's not about you. Just stop.

As someone who has his own life struggles you would think you would have more compassion for people. I guess you went the other way and became a bitter #######.

Maybe one day things will get better for you, get some help.

I used to think the same thing as Flames_Gimp. I just didn't understand how someone who apparently "has it all" can choose suicide. As I met more people who battled depression, I began to understand it's not something you can rationalize and all you can do is support the people who are battling it as best you can.

Flames_Gimp, it's fine to have an opinion. Even this one. But choosing to voice that opinion in a thread of people mourning the loss of someone who has inspired and entertained them, makes you the jerk.

Thanks for this post I probably am more critical than most, I don’t have the right to be critical, can’t help myself. I believe 99% of able bodied people have it better than me, and suicide pisses me off. I probably use the internet to vent. Maybe it’s how I deal with anger.

Puts his show in a whole different light. He was a pretty good actor that entertained a lot of people but also one sold a lot a people on a fake lifestyle that didnt even bring him hapiness or satisfaction.

no matter how good things are, I’ll still never agree with suicide.

You don’t agree with me, does everyone with a different opinion need help?
