Had an idea!

Well I finally solved my problem.
The first version of IE 7 that I installed was the Beta...and everyone I asked had problems with it. Well the real IE 7 is available for download...so I downloaded it..installed and everything works again.
Finally I must say. And I can still run Firefox as my default browser.

Even though I use mine every day, I'm pretty much a dolt with a computer.
Soooo...this is probably a dumb question. I need to upload 400 files within a folder to a web page. Is there a way to upload the whole folder at once, rather than all 400 files separately? If so how. Thanks in advance.

any FTP client (hell even IE) will allow you just to drag and drop folders for uploading. The one thing you may want to do is get an sFTP client though (FTP has absolutely no security).

Feel free to think so...
Zero Day Mac OSX Exploit
Although with Apple selling their own hardware, they do a very good job a minimizing issues, quality control.

And verified. However Secunia has now downgraded this to "Not Critical".
I think Mac's are great, but never buy into the belief that because it is from Apple that viruses/security aren't a concern. Any complex software will have bugs that no one has caught no matter how well QA'd.

No, I know and you make good points. The Mac marketing has just brainwashed me is all. I'm still extremely careful about where I surf and what I download. The fact is though, the performance from this machine is above and beyond anything I have ever had on a PC.
The fact that it comes out of the box, ready to go, is just amazing. Especially considering what a headache it is putting a PC together.
Unlike other posters, I've heard Apple customer service is superb if you are on their warranty. I was getting some major rage issues dealing with HP and I had a warranty on that piece of ****.

I heard that Apple's customer support is pretty expensive. Does anyone know how much it costs to support a Macbook?

I think its about $300 to extend the support and warranty to 3 years. There is complimentary support for 3 months and a 1 year warranty included with the purchase.

Is it safe for me to (caefully) carry my laptop in my briefcase while it's running? I don't do it often but sometimes I just want to carry it from office to home without turning if off. Can this do any damage?

If you put it in to sleep mode it won't. Depending on the laptop if it has a tilt sensor then there won't be any damage (the tilt sensor will stop the HD from spinning if the laptop is put above a certain angle and stops the disc arm from scratching the discs inside).

It's a Dell Inspiron 600m. I'm not sure is it has a tilt sensor. How do I find out? I've already transported it on its end and no damage so perhaps it has one. When it gos into sleep I don't hear anything moving inside so my guess is it has a safety mechanism of some kind.
