It's voting day and I can't bring myself to vote for any of them.

What is the best way for me to communicate this through my vote?

Show up to the voting booth in superman underwear, and write in Kal-El.

I really don't envy your choices.

Thank you!

Don't know why they don't have a none of the above option. That way it would maintain my ability to vote in private as opposed to having to declare publicly what I am voting for.

Because none of the above would win! Then what?

Then none of the others are elected.

I think it would be an awesome statement if the voters would deny the party leaders seats in the house.

Vote for whoever you want, but in Horwaths riding vote conservative. In Fords Riding vote NDP and in Wynne's riding vote green.

That way we get a government but the voters could really show their disgust in the whole thing.

I like this!
although Wynne is going to lose her seat anyways.

Kind of like the US election when people in different states were making trades

Gotta think if the PC's hadn't picked Ford that they'd be at 50% in the polls right now.

Seems to be a pretty consistent centre-right party issue across the country right now. Adding degrees of difficulty for no reason with poor leader choices.

Anyone have an explanation of why we're seeing such bad candidates contesting elections? Are there just not enough regular citizens participating at the nomination level to ensure moderate, reasonably normal candidates win the nomination? How can we inject more mainstream participation into politics at that level?

Look at politics today.

Why would you want to get involved in that?

I think scheer has done a very good job so far.

I don't think he can be painted with the Ford brush.

I think that there are lots of reasons that all end with the mutterred word Politics.

How many times in the nominee process have we see side deals or strategic voting and someone unexpected barges up the middle.

Or the party is convinced that name recognition is the way to go (Ford, Truduea) or a specific type of candidate instead of the right candidate (Singh). Its almost as if where conventional wisdom is to draft BPA, the parties are drafting based on a stereotypical need. We need someone hip, or are twitter or facebook stars, but they never ask, are they capable of doing the job?

I tend to think that most competent smart people are starting to stay away from public service leaving it to the derps.

I mean frankly who wants a job where your personal life is scrutinized, your family acted, and you basically get back stabbed and sucker punched every day while making a decision that no matter what it is, is going to piss people off.

In addition to that, those that are the hungriest for power are usually the last ones that should have it for a number of reasons. It's a natural consequence of our Western style of democracy that our leaders suck.

I tend to think that people gravitate towards politics because if they manage to get into a elected position, your opportunity to make very good money is high and your post political career is pretty much set unless you have cranal relations with a cat on youtube.
